For Les to be on the hotseat?

For Les to be fired?

I say if we lose 5, he's on the heater.

If we lose 6+, he's fired.

if you were a fan of the team why would you want them to lose 5 or 6 games.

I certainly don't want them to lose 5 or 6 games!

I just think that it'll be easy to lose 5 games. 6 is stretching it. That would be full out disaster.

I think if he loses 4, he is on the hot seat. 5 is 50/50 and 6 is 100% chance of being fired. Mediocrity should not be excepted at LSU with our talent and recent success.

Isn't this the mentality that caused the 90's... or did the 90's cause this mentality?

So, he hasn't had 1 losing season yet. Are you saying you would wait until we win less than 6 games 3 times to fire him? HOLY shite!

It's not the fricking 90's guys. LSU is an elite program with elite facilities and athletes. Mediocrity should not be accepted. We compete for championships year in and year out now. Enough said.

I agree. I'm just trying to explain this to the people who act like this is acceptable at this juncture in our program.

No number of losses will result in his firing after the 2009 season. Curley Hallman lost at least 6 games, EVERY season he was the head "coach" at LSU.

A single season number is hard to settle on. Because we lost 5 in 2008, I think if he loses 4 in 2009, he's on the hotseat. (Not with me, but just generally.) Because that's 9 in two years. The last time LSU lost 9 games in a two season span was 1997/1998 when we lost 10. Then in 1999 Dinardo went 2-8 before he quit/was fired and replaced before the Arkansas game.

The previous head coach lost 8 games over the two season period of 2001/2002. But the following year was a national championship season.

So - if he loses the rest of the games, he won't be fired after 2009 (I guess it's possible, but I don't think so). If he loses 4, he's on the hot seat for 2010.

He won the NC 2 years ago so it would take at least one pretty bad season. However, I will say I was pretty pissed off with his timeout shite at the end of the furst half that lead to 3 points for Washington. That shite is just unacceptable for a head coach not to realize.

I agree that 4 is "hotseat", but for 2010 (meaning losing 4 games in 2009, puts him on the hotseat going into 2010). You think 6 losses is an automatic firing? Or is that just what you would do.

I do not think he will be fired if he loses 10 more games. He did lead LSU to a national championship in 2007/2008. Now, having said that, even if we "only" lose 4 games this year, he'll have to mount a 10 or 11 win season to reverse the momentum against him. Miles is the victim of his own early success, sort of. Miles has already won 1.) As many bowl games at LSU as Saban did, 2.) As many National Championships at LSU as Saban did, 3.) 4 more games than Saban did at this same moment in the career, 4.) As many games against Florida at LSU than Saban did,

and we could go on and on. Nobody would have been talking about firing Saban after the Cap One Bowl, if he hadn't already quit.

I would fire him for five losses. That is not the right direction no matter how you slice it. Too much talent to dick around with five losses two years in a row. We would have to move before the program is in complete shambles. We shouldn't wait until we go sub .500 to make a change. If we do it at that point, then the new coach could come in while there is still talent.
