Anybody know? Should the TAF pay to renovate some of the rooms to be more like a hotel? They could make a killing. $250 per night for a room with two double beds. King size bed $300 per night. Both require a two night reservation and a $50 donation to TAF. Guests must show proof of ID and be at least 28 years of age. An individual may not make more than 3 reservations per year. This will allow all Tiger fans to experience. For a night game, have a 10AM deadline requiring all people staying to exit the stadium. People may re-enter their hotel rooms no earlier that one hour after the end of the game.

We will call it "The Tiger Lair"

What would be the purpose of this?

Tailgating and keep all people who do not have tickets from "sneaking" into the game

I think they exist anymore. They use to have some but I think they are not dorms now...

There are a dozen more renovations I would like to see in Tiger Stadium before the dorms.

There are still rooms whether they use them for storage now or just keep them empty.

From what I recall of those dorms there was no access to the stadium seating area from there. The room areas had separate entrances. I didn't pay close attention to it when I was at TS last (2 years ago) but I seem to remember those dorm area entrances were chained and padlocked. Anyway I would think they could just construct barriers to keep them separate, then who cares if people wanted to use the room they pay for during tailgate hours?

The old dorms could never be renovated into hotel rooms, much to small.

Even worse no way corridors would not meet fire marshal requirments.

I walked through them last season.

I believe have allot of asbestos in them, and that is a huge expense to abate.

Good point I think you're right. If they could keep it separate and require the people that stay to have a pass at all times that could work.

The cost of removing the asbestos used in another way would allow us to finally build a parking garage on campus.

LSU will have to do something about them EVENTUALLY. They won't be able to just let them decay forever just hoping they disappear.

Are you suggesting turning the old stadium dorms into a parking garage?

He is suggesting that the money that it would take to do this could be used on something else, like a parking garage. But what I think he is failing to realize is that the University will have to build the parking lot because it will be on state property. The hotel rooms would be something the TAF could pay for kindof like they did with the east upper and the box seats.

Thank you..

If they did try this, I would be the first in line to rent a room. But there are an untold number of things they could do even within the stadium with that money that I feel would be more beneficial.

I am not familiar with the price of asbestos removal. Does the cost equate to the cost of constructing a parking garage?
