will be obnoxious and drinking
I've been to every stadium in the SEC (many muliple times) except for Florida and Arkansas. I've gotten drunk at all of them and ALWAYS have had a great time.
Remember you're on THEIR campus. Be loud, drunk, and obnoxious, but do it with a little common sense and courtesy. Leave the chip on your shoulder at home. If you act like an arse, you'll be treated like one. If someone is being an arse to you, laugh it off.

made the trip 3 times. their fans seem to get worse each trip.
in 96' (yes, i'm old by td standards) i actually stayed with ole miss students. we received a typical amount of harassment given to opposing fans. good road trip.
went in 2003 with a group of 12 - their fans now cocky since eli won a few games. ole miss seemed to be more obnoxious than any school i'd visited to this point. they directed most of their harassment to the ladies when we weren't around since they obvious wouldn't fight back. summary - the rebels were dickish, but easily tolerable. probably not much different than a lot of our fans.
2007 - worst trip i've ever taken (and that's alot). i was surprised to see that the male fan base had grown enough balls to talk shite to the guys in our group. I am a big guy, so no one told me anything except for a few harmless corndog and windbreaker jokes. However one of my friends is pretty small guy, about 5 fans tried to start shite with him for no reason. They only like to talk shite when they out number you and/or they aren't within striking distance. However the key to getting an ole miss fan to shut up is to get in his face. they will back down with an impressive quickness.
With that said... just ignore them and you'll be fine. They have a hard on for pissing off LSU fans. Reacting like an arse will only please them. Just remind them that winning twice this decade doesn't give them reason to talk shite.

People say this about every college venue. Maybe parents shouldn't bring children to an environment fueled by young adults and alcohol.

Like a rich, handsome, important man. Maybe you guys should think about a wardrobe change?

Been many times. They are delusional snobs, and you'll get the typical "corndog", "bayou trash", "coonass" taunts over and over. I know all the urban myths about all stadiums in the SEC, but it's the only place where I have actually seen someone get hit in the head with a whiskey bottle. It was thrown into the LSU section from the student section but since they've sort of separated the students from the visiting fans, it hasn't been bad. The campus is small and very crowded. The grove is WAY WAY WAY overrated, unless you like about 1000 tents crammed side by side with no room to move around. Or, you happen to like the china pattern that your group uses.

i had a really good time in 2003. typical tiger bashing but nothing out of the ordinary. After the game i had a really really really good time, there are some beautiful women in oxford. if you happen to see a sexy blonde with a tattoo of a penguin on her back, and answers to the name Kate, ask her why she never called me. she dropped me off the next morning and promised she would call

You should try arriving in a really nice car. $80K or above preferably. That should at least start things off better. Also, have copies of your portfolio handy. Anytime you get heckled, whip that bad boy out and show them that you are as rich as they are and you'll immediately be whisked away to the REAL party, where everything is free, women run around naked and you're handed a free Rolex just for attending. Shhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone.

Meh
It's a great atmosphere. Went there in '07, did get "heckled" a little in the Grove but it seemed in good fun ... nothing that LSU fans don't do to opposing fans on campus at LSU. Heard a muffled "corndog" after game, I offered the muffled response, "Loser," since Ol Miss failed to win an SEC game that yr. I was w/ my two teenaged boys, we basically walked through their "Walk of Champions" thing lined by OM fans ... wasn't intimidated in the slightest. I am a big guy (not bragging, I'm by no means a fighter) so I guess that helped.
Now in 1999 (or was it '98) anyway Dinardo was coach, we lost in OT there, and the OM students were yelling a lot of crap as we left the stadium, but I had nothing thrown at me. I did hear that in '07, the OM students threw things at the LSU band.
Go and have fun -- if an OM frat preppy geek gets abusive, open up a can o' whup azz.

I've been once, in 2003 when Ole Miss was competing for the SEC West (the game Eli tripped on his lineman on 4th down). I tailgated in the Grove all day and had a great time at the game.

Sorry, should have been more specific. We were forced to go to Sonic. They have corndogs there? I didn't know that. What is wrong with corndogs.

It's just like any other place in the SEC. If you have thin skin, you shouldn't go to road games. Last year we got heckled pretty much the whole time we were walking around the LSU campus and we weren't even talking to anybody. We also got cussed by little kids sitting over the lower visitor's section for most of the game.
Did it bother me? No. It just comes with the territory.
The ones that get pissed off or try to act like they own the place just make it worse for themselves.

I have been to a bunch of games in Oxford and I can promise you that the Ole Miss fans will treat Tiger fans one hell of a lot better than LSU fans treat Ole Miss visitors when they attend a game at Tiger Stadium.

this is not a lie or a fabricated story
we parked on a road on the outskirts of campus. i wasnt but 100 yards from my car, when some ole miss figs in a shitty sedan come rolling by, and some douche leans out of the car and tosses a mint julep at me. i was able to matrix myself out of the way, but i was shocked at four guys in a shitty sedan drinking min julips. just made me lol at how pathetic they really are

Went last time in '07 with 6 people. Hung out in the Grove with Ole Miss fans. Didnt get harrassed at all. Some good natured taunting between one friend and some OM fans but he was just having fun. An opposing fan will get messed with more at LSU...most of these people are too busy trying to look cool and wouldn't want to mess up their red pants in a brawl.

Went in 2005...sat with 5 ole miss buddies (all in our mid 20's) in the heart of the boosters sections (50 yd line). Since the tigers were pounding them, I had more to cheer about than everyone around me but i was being as civil as you can be in the midst of such a beatdown...mid 2nd quarter a 70 year old man turns around and starts dog cussing me, next thing I know he is jumping over seats to come fight me...my buddies (ole miss fans) stop him and people start acting like i instigated the whole thing. Me and my 5 friends almost got into it with about 10 ole miss folks. It was absolutely ridiculous...actually had a few ole miss fans come up to me and apologize for the pathetic display of their fellow fans. I havent bothered going back since.
