Its power read. You realize that means Sellers is reading Swinson right? The DL wasn’t good as a whole in that play but if Swinson does his job and doesn’t bust, the ball is handed off and our free players rally to the ball for a minimum gain. Swinson was the most important player on that play and he screwed up.

This is the failure in your logic. You keep painting this scenario where it’s a TFL or a TD when that’s absurd. Again Swinson could’ve stopped the play completely but the reason it was a 65+ yard TD instead of a 4-5-8 yard gain is because the interior guys got blown out of the picture.

You’re missing the point. The interior guys shouldn’t have mattered on power read. If Swinson forces the give to the wide run the interior guys don’t matter. On that given play if Swinson does his job it’s 1/2 yard gain. He didn’t and it turned into a TD. Modern football is gap scheme. Everybody is responsible for a gap. That TD was ran right through Swinsons gap. The DL as a whole isn’t up to the standard but they were far from the main issue with the defense on Saturday.
Edited to add. I’m giving you the #1 reason these plays are happening and you are focusing on reason 3/4/5. Whether somebody is getting pushed around or not is irrelevant if we are having bust.

Actually he cuts back left and ran right where the DTs were supposed to be but you’re just unwilling to admit reality so it’s pointless talking to you.

No you’re saying that if the guy who can stop the play completely doesn’t then it’s an automatic TD which is insane.

That’s exactly where Swinson should be. He’s supposed to step down toward the tackle and close that gap down. Forcing Sellers to give it. If Sellers keeps it he’s supposed to fit inside that puller and force Sellers to run wide.

I have never said that. I’m saying him doing his job prevents a TD and actually keeps to a very small gain.

And where are the interior guys? One is on the ground the play side DT is almost pushed to the opposite hash. Theres nobody in the middle of the field because those two got crushed leaving a giant hole where he ran right through.

Are you really this insecure? Nobody says Swinson didn’t frickup, why can’t you admit the DTs got blown up as well? You don’t just want people to agree with you, you want everyone else to be wrong. What is that?

I already said they were bad on that play. Go back and read. I didn't defend them on this play. Just said what they did on that play should be irrelevant if Swinson plays it correctly. Hopefully Baker can get these fit issues fixed sooner rather than later. My entire point is we have a fit issue more than we have a getting blown off the ball issue.

DT is the worst position on the field. They’re getting blown 3-4 yards off the ball pretty much anytime the opponent wants.
I swear it’s like some of you don’t actually watch the games and just post complete bullshite during the week.

I know numbers wise we aren’t great. But this D has gotten stops needed to keep us in games. Last years D we lose this game by 10 or more

Don’t take my word for it, listen to BK, watch the video, listen to Richard Dickson.
