By these comments a lot of you haven’t watched Junior play a lot. He’s far more advanced as a second year player than anyone at Tech with the exception of Karl Malone. His quickness and footwork around the paint is highly skilled. His range has improved a lot from last season. And he plays big in big games. NC state and Santa Clara he went for 30-plus and 10-plus.

I agree the kid is what you say he is. You cover Louisiana Tech basketball do you think LSU covers that -11 or do you think this will be a closer game. I’d have to think Tech wants to win this game more than any other game on their schedule.

It’s agitating because he doesn’t look like he could even be good.
But he is.
But he is.

The games I saw him play in, his attitude is that he will not be stopped. That attitude elevates average (for CBB) physical ability to great college players. He strikes me as high character.

No real similarities between he and Barkley outside of strength. Barkley was and incredible transition scorer who could really run the floor, he could also handle the ball and play away from the basket as well. Lofton is an old school power post with good feet and touch around the bucket but if Reid can stay out of foul trouble his length could be a problem for Foster. We also have guys like Eason and Fudge who could make things difficult for Foster with their length and quick hands if we clog things up with extra bodies down low.

This is why college basketball is great. He’s 6’7 and probably a top 10 big man in America. Almost impossible he will play in the nba but he’s going to be a legend in Ruston for all eternity.
College basketball is a beauty.. does it have its flaw? Yes. But basketball LARGELY depends on coaching/discipline/execution. Can you buy a good team? Sure. but getting a group of 5 guys to play together is more important.
Basketball is a beautiful game.

Good points all around. College basketball is still a sport where the best “Team” usually wins. This is why I love our chances to do a lot this season, we may not have the overall offensive skill and talent some of Wade’s rosters have had but this appears to be his best Team.

Exactly- no coincidence that this is our best start since 1999. We just have to finish.

Our biggest question mark so far is shooting but I watched Gonzaga today who entered their game shooting 32% from 3 but we all know Gonzaga will end up shooting the ball well from 3 the way they did today. We’re currently barely above 30% and were 31.9% before Northwestern but we do have guys like Pinson, who’s been a good shooter for 3 years and got hot last game, Days and Murray who I believe will eventually round into form. My point is we’ve been winning with these guys slumping so if they get to form big things are on the horizon for this group.
