I agree plus Ill bet alot of this praise comes from the same people that defended Chad Jones' reps at the combine as unimportant.
I put up 11 reps of 225 last night. Im about 5'11" 160. There is no way in hell that Chad Jones can only bench 225 9 times under optimal conditions.
I mentioned that Ford was 5'10" benching 450+ to insinuate that he wasn't some 6'6" 325lb Dlineman benching this out of highschool

Who said Ford was having a hard time passing Ridley and Murphy on the depth chart? Murphy is coming back from his second knee injury, and has not had contact yet. He is guaranteed to be our top back? Ridley was coming off knee surgery as well last year. How will he perform this year?
We should hope Ford passes them both. We know what we have with the other two, and that is not to say they can't come back to form. But if Ford is as advertised, he should be better than both of them. He almost reached legendary status as a La HS RB. I want to think he will compare favorably with Richardson. We have to see, don't we? Same goes for our OL. This is not going to be the same OL, good or bad! You can't judge much about this team until we see them perform next year. Wish it was otherwise, but that's fact.

465lb bench press. Yeah right.

Problem is Ford doesn't have the oline that TR has. Put TR in a LSU uniform and doesn't do any better than anyone else LSU has
Ben Wilkerson will help fix the O-Line. Ford was the leading ground gainer in the Hawaii Bowl and MVP. Runs hard and makes yards after contact. He will make an impact this year.

Are you doubting that ford can do that?

380 in HS for Richardson, so what was Fords bench in HS?

You think. Until I see it, it's hearsay.

I guess he wasn't that good then, considering 3 guys were ahead of him. If he was that great, I would think he would of played. Especially considering that rb is the easiest position on the field to play.
I guess you don't know much about football since Ford had these guys in front of him:
Scott
Williams
Murphy
Ridley

How Does Michael Ford Compare to
Trent Richardson?
Why not compare Chris Garrett to Sam Bradford?

everyone knows that he has the physical measurments to compare him to other good RB's but, for him to be good, he's going to have to run with a swagger to him, have great vision, balance.....he has everything else...TR runs with a purpose, he looks good, runs hard....to be honest with you, him and heisman looked very similiar....you cant tip toe through a whole, you got hit going 100mph....only way to be a good back.
Vision
Cut on a dime
power
speed
strength
toughness
deliver the blow
one of the reasons I thought keiland was better then scott, sometimes he didnt run with purpose, being as big as he is he should have made those 4th and 1 & 2's....Hester ran with a purpose, he was gonna get that 1st down or he was going to die trying...

If Chris garrett started, dude might put up some ridiculous numbers with his gunslinging style, but the kid won't see the field for another year.
this should be a thread, What If C Garrett played this year?

Ford didn't have a great OL at Leesville, yet averaged over 200 yds a game. Hits the line quick and puts his head down, not easy to tackle. Remember last fall Miles mentioned Ford was practicing well. I do agree with the OL comments. If they don't improve, and QB play too, it could be a long year.

Sounds about right for LSU fans. Let's start the guy who has yet to take a snap to see how he can do.

Richardson is the best most physically talented runner in the nation IMO. If he wasn't splitting wiht Ingram he would be super hyped. Dude is tremendously hard to tackle.
LMAO no he isnt.
