What concerns me is there always seems to be a group out of camp that garners a lot of hype. Is figuring to be great. And then they're not. 2023, the Dline group was going to be a monster. Then the face planted. Last year, the o-line was going to be the best in the country with all the talent and experience that was returning. Then they were useless at run blocking. This year were back to d-line being the talk of camp. Hopefully this group matches the hype.

The 23 DBs had very little talent

This O line is talented, just untested

This year’s DL and Secondary have objectively more talent and depth than the DL did in 23.

Recruiting rankings aren’t everything, though. You brought up last year’s OL. Chester came in with a great recruiting ranking. 247 had him as the top IOL in his class and in the top 60 overall. That’s a high-level recruit. But he obviously wasn’t ready and him not grabbing a job this year based his projections and a year of experience…he’s flirting with being a bust.

Recruits have to live up to the projections. But when you can start stacking high 4 stars and 5s, a bust or portal defection here and there won’t kill you. We are starting to develop that kind of depth along the OL and DL now.

Completely different and you are only half reporting what they are saying about the OL now. There is nowhere near the level of negativity about the secondary compared to this OL. They actually mention that this OL actually goes tit for tat in one on ones. They consider them as a unit to be inconsistent. That is completely different from what people were saying about the secondary.

Even Kelly sounds completely different on both. He basically said, "this is who we've got and we've got to work with them", about the secondary that year. This year he is gungho about how great he expects this OL to be. He has praised them several times.

Even Flynn and other media alluded to LSU media not really knowing how good the OL is just watching from the sideline. He says the view up top will tell you way more than what you are seeing from a distance at eye level.
