I’ll put it this way - the team wasn’t ready for week 1. Had to install a whole new offense and defense with a new coach, new coaching staff in all key roles, tons of transfers/departures and a new QB. Add in a real QB competition in camp and Daniels just hasn’t looked comfortable - it’s one read, pull the ball down and run. He was a good QB on a bad team before LSU so he clearly can figure it out. Today he had a pretty clean pocket and hung in there well, gave plays time to develop downfield and delivered the ball very well. If the offense can keep this up they do have a chance to steal one of these tough games coming up with Bama/Ole Miss/A&M

Steal one?

What are thinking that they can’t do 3-0 or at worst 2-1?

It’s hard to know if we changed offensive schemes or if Daniels just decided to throw the ball. This may have been available all along.

I would really love to see a knowledgable person officially break this down because I'd feel a helluva lot better about Denbrock knowing he was calling these kinds of games all season.

I know I saw the QB under center for short yardage plays for the first time. That was new. And long overdue.

JD5 told to stay in the fricking pocket and let plays develop?

Not in the same words, but they have been working on it with him. Was starting to think it would just never click with him.

Going under center isnt a “scheme” change

At this point this one isn't a steal.

Still have Ole Miss and Florida, they MIGHT just have to beat us to get to a bowl. IF that's the case, I don't really expect everyone on that team to really still be into it.

They opened things up more tonight, but that was likely because Daniels showed he was ready to step up and make plays. That confidence allowed the staff to be more aggressive. That downfield passing then backed the defense up and made the running and short passing games more effective. Put that all together and you suddenly have an offense that works a hell of a lot better.
