Hasn't at all. He left us with national championship caliber talent that the next coach can build off of.

Miles staff left us with recruiting shortfalls at qb, lb, ol and dl to a lesser degree. Even worse the attitude of the players has reduced from winning to defeatist. Good coaches/teams find a way to win close games. Sadly, we find a way to lose them. New coach will have to establish the swagger that has basically disappeared. Also, LSU schedule is such that important games occur in November. November has sucked for the past several years. Hopefully it won't take the new HC long to get the swagger back.

It's not a political situation nuns nuts. What we are dealing with are real consequences of holding on to a clueless head coach for too long. Obama has nothing to do with this pile of shite Miles left us to straighten out. You need a reality check

And don't forget about what he's done to recruiting in terms of QBS. The jerrett lee situation effectively ended our pipeline to recruiting Texas QBS. Lees dad was a well known coach in Texas and has a lot of friends in coaching there after what was done to his son by miles we've been completely cut off from our biggest and closest area of QBS. Then theirs gunner Kiel and after the "great and classy man" chastised and demeaned a 17 year old kid for wanting to play in his home state instead of lsu miles cut off another qb family with ties all over the country including the nfl from LSU. And remember Kiel transferred after a year at ND so wedve had him if miles wouldn't have done what he did. So yea I'd say he wounded us pretty bad when you consider all that plus his 1970s offense. He destroyed critical recruiting connections to the most important position on the field.

Perhaps Miles shouldn't have said what he said about some players not having "the chest to lead LSU", but can you blame Miles and the coaching staff (and the fans) for being upset with the fricking kid. The day he's supposed to show up at LSU, his arse is in South Bend, without saying shite to anybody from LSU. LSU also lost out on a lineman they were recruiting because of the kid not sticking to his commitment. And it sounds like Kiel has taken that comment from Miles a lot better than you have. A year or so back, Kiel himself said that he understood why Miles took that stance.

You don't know that. Kiel had opportunities to go plenty of places, yet he transferred to Cincinnati, still in his "back yard", as a matter of fact, South Bend is twice as far from Kiels home town than Cincinnati is.

The kid has class that's why he answers that way and of course I don't know for sure but if it was between us and notre dame I have to believe when he transferred wedve had a great chance to get him. And I don't blame anyone for being upset about what happened but he's a kid from Indiana who decided to go to ND this kind of thing happens all the time what miles did was classless. Besides all that the point I was making was Texas is a huge recruiting bed for QBS it's next door to us miles cut that pipeline off because of how he treated lee and the Kiel family is full of ex QBS that've played all over the place and have nfl ties you don't say what he said about a 17/18 year old kid from a family like that. Both moves have hurt us we haven't signed a blue chip qb from Texas since and it's another example of miles ego coming first and not the LSU program.

The fact is he left us in worse shape than when he got here. I'm glad he's gone and we havnt fallen too far. If we hire the right guy next it won't be long before we are a contender again.

Certainly some talent. But too much talent under Miles remained raw and undeveloped. Our WRs regressing and lack of QB development are prime examples.

We have skill position talent a lot of bells and whistles but the oline where everything starts is very poor. I don't think it's a lack of talent it's more of a problem where miles and grimes have everybody playing out of position for 2 years now and the new staff having been thrown into the fire had no time to fix it.

if you look at the record in the 10 years before he arrived then for the ten years he started, I would say its a flesh wound.....

I disagree. It was just as classless for Kiel to commit to LSU, then back out at the last minute without contacting the coaching staff. His selfish act not only screwed LSU with his position, but we also lost out on a lineman that the coaching staff wanted, but didn't offer a scholarship to. If I remember correctly, by the time the Kiel fiasco was over with, the other kid had accepted a scholarship to Auburn.

But after committing and decommitting to Indiana, committing to LSU and not showing up, only spending a year at Notre Dame, then transferring to Cincinnati, I don't think LSU lost out on much.

What was Miles' SEC record over that time? Miles supporters loved to bring up his overall winning percentage, but his conference record tells a very different story. LSU hasn't been nationally relevant since 2011. It's been a slow death by 1000 cuts.

LSU fans, not Miles, are the laughingstock of this country - at least for the 30 seconds that most actually take in thinking about LSU. Let's be honest - Alabama is the only truly dominant team in college football these days and everybody else is a distant 3rd or worse. We happen to have the only program that actually play them toe-to-toe most years - yes, that's with Miles at the helm. Hate to say it or think It, but the glamour and fun years of LSU football have quickly faded in the dust for fans on the inside and outside of the program. And it ain't all Miles' fault - it's a combination of fickle fans and sniveling social media rants that proclaim victory before a game is played and blast a player or coach if mistakes are made without giving credit for the hard work these teams put in every game and every year. Like this country, out fans suffer from unrealistic expectations and poor moral fiber that tends to eat its own. Gobble, gobble!! It's turkey time and we deserve to be the ones getting stuffed and eaten. As much as I hate seeing out team lose, the thing I hate worse is hearing all the back-biting and finger-pointing afterwards. Embarrassing!

Hope the next coach at least wins 8 games a year. If not he is a downgrade from Miles.

Miles won 8 games or more every year.

So the kids classless for making a personal decision he thought was best for him? A 17/18 year old not under contract to anybody? It's obvious your bias here a 60+ year old man vs a child the grown man spewing demeaning comments vs a kid making a choice to stay closer to home to go to college. You take the old mans side of course his name happens to be Miles. I'm telling you man you miles pumpers will bend reality to prop that piece of trash up.
