Hire the Hornets marketing people. The "I'm In" campaign was brilliant.
How was that brilliant? I like the campaign, but it didn't sell any more tickets.

But I think its a good incentive for people to buy seadon tix. I sit in my seats but you can move wherever.
Whats point buying season tix to a team where no one shows up if no incentive? if we tuen out to be good for years and they are on demand, then ya can prkb drop icentives. But nba and collge bballmake it hcheaper if you seasin tix holder

then you would also know those seats are horrible. NO legroom and you are way too far away from the action it feels like. Charging $22 per ticket for a "big" game is a robbery. Like I said, I felt bad having my in laws come out with the family and they spent damn near $200 for a basketball game that we got blown out by almost 20 points. I had to reassure them that this is a "rebuilding" year with a new coach and yadda yadda yadda.
I have a feeling a lot of casual fans share their view on things. It just puts a bad taste in your mouth.
I definitely feel like they can lower the prices of tickets while basketball is the complete opposite of a hot ticket
Another thing I don't agree with is the fact that they don't promote the game for students at all and the student section has got to be the worst placed student section in the country. They are the loudest and most passionate fans we have and we put them behind the damn goal.
Make the old fricks move back there until they actually start coming to the games

Plenty of students are placed behind goal around country. What they need to do though is run it sll the way to top with no bars seperation. Make it like 2000 design. That way student section is whole instead of weird placement. Right now the lifeline isnt enough even when bottoms full because rest of ss is seperated and dont feel part of it so stay quiet.
My seats arent horrible fwiw. I could move but never do. I nevee feel like im out of the action.
Ive sat last few roqs before and when packed never feel out of it.
We got blew out, it happens, if we won then irs worth ir. Just likw big football game tix, sucks spendinf a lot if lose.

Someone forward this thread to someone they know in the athletic department. The team is going to be solid in the coming years which will bolster ticket sales, but some type of creativity or advertising campaign could go a long way to expedite the process. I've not seen much in terms of promotion for the bball team which is a shame. The football and baseball team sells itself. Show the bball team some love and hold people accountable who suck at their job and do nothing creatively to support an up and coming winner imo, or be lazy and apathetic and keep with the status quo, which is the more likely outcome.

We were also expected to be blown out. To some it's worth it (I go to the all the games and end up sitting with SOS) but to others, it just gets to be a bit much.
Student section should at least be in the corner and like you said, not be separated by a bar. If not the corner than have it wrap around from behind the goal and take those students that would normally extend up and just wrap them around to the bleacher seats.

How about having them play a watchable sport?
What's funny is that most of these suggestions revolve around other peripheral entertainment that might lure people in to watch, well...basketball.
All of the strippers, cheap concessions and exciting peripheral entertainment doesn't cover up the reality that it's basketball in a football and baseball town.
If you're that damn excited about flipping basketball, I suggest that you move to an ACC school.

LSU basketball has arguably more potential as a program than any other school outside of Kentucky and Mizzou. There was once a time when we owned the SEC.
edit: we can be just as good if not better as a program than Mizzou. All it takes is a tourney run and to not collapse the next season.

I was there for Shaq, CJ and Stanley Roberts. The bottom line is that LSU is a football and baseball school. I (and I think most fans) would be perfectly content to trade empty PMAC games for sold out games at Death Valley and Alex Box. It's basketball...a mildly interesting filler between football and baseball.

I agree with this wholeheartedly, which likely isnt your intention at all, but I'm not the target audience. I go to the majority of home games when I'm in town and have supported the program 100% my whole life. The fact that the majority of people are indifferent about the program means that competent people work to put bodies in seats. If people come to see a dog do cartwheels or to get a free tee shirt, who cares? The point is to increase attendance and let the product sell itself. Since maybe its not quite ready to generate that kind of support, bring on the magicians, the commercials, and cut ticket prices. If things remain the same, indifference will rule and LSU bball will be continue to be the epitome of fair weather fandom.

And... Gfy. I like LSU bball more than baseball and football combined and I support both, just bc you have an opinion, don't shite on others who don't share it. It's still LSU and you're opinions are douchey and elitist at the minimum.

Basketball in general IS a fair weather fan's sport. Look at EVERY major basketball team pro and/or college. When the are losing, the crowds dwindle. There are so many games that people will only make the big games unless you throw out incentives or win them all.
I lived in Omaha throughout highschool and grew up going to Creighton games and they did this shite on the reg for the smaller games and still packed the place (not as much as the bigger games).
Don't give me the "football/baseball school" crap. If you are a fan of sports in general and the team is doing well, you will want to go check it out. Charging $22 per ticket for the cheap seats and getting blown out is not the way to get people to come. I wholeheartedly believe that if LSU were to up the advertising for mens bball and winning games or losing close games, the support will come.

Oh, and scheduling your biggest OOC game during a Thursday night Saints game has to stop
Johnny even made a comment about that game. I expect major changes to the OOC scheduling in the future.

When I lived in Memphis and coach cal was just getting there, they got every corporation to buy up all tickets that were not sold to season ticket holders. I personally had 20 tickets that I could give to my employees as rewards for doing a good job. The staff loved getting the tickets, more people went than would have normally one, and it hey could also promote that the pyramid was sold out which made people more interested as it became an event
Maybe they should try that here
