And when you're down in a stance on the defensive line looking at the ball, if the center jerks his head around, he will cause many too flinch because the quick head movement simulates a snap. Simulating a snap is a penalty. It' the same reason that O-Lineman can't start in an upright stance, and then snap down to a 3 pt stance in an effort to draw the defense offsides.

Your "10 minute expert" interpretation and application of the rule is laughable....but you can't see that because you know and you know you know.

And you're back! If one cannot read the rule and properly apply it to the situation, then what good is it?? I've never ONCE said I know it all! Shhesh...I said I passed the rules test, meaning I'm not simply quoting the announcers as you so eloquently stated yesterday.

Also, if it's "not fun anymore" when criticism comes your way, that's a good indicator you can't hack the job. Good officials welcome it from peers, supervisors, and coaches.
Please, I officiated basketball in Alabama before I came here. I welcomed those who were eager to help me become a better official. I made one call in his zone that for some reason he missed (you know, we all miss calls) so I blew the whistle. Walking out of the gym he told me to never undermine his abilities again. Tell me you've never thrown a flag for a call outside of your zone. I can handle criticisms routinely, it doesn't bother me. But when I'm doing something because I enjoy the game and the so called "expert because he has more experience" gets on me like that, it isn't fun.

They figured you out. A Newbie Knowitall is much easier to spot than you realize and isn't worth wasting time trying to help. The fact is experienced officials will bend over backwards to help a new official who wants to learn the game.
Except you weren't there and I was more than willing to learn more of the game...

Funny how I also officiate volleyball, and am one of the instructors for the new officials...apparently I'm too young, inexperienced, or a know it all to hear anything from anyone else...sheesh.

I've read this entire thread....and just damn.

Golfer......you may not know more than these two flaming idiots w/ horrible attitudes....but I get what you're saying.

If you two are what's calling games out there...i see WHY officials are blasted so damn much......

Answer the easy question.......was what Florida was doing....at ANY time......a penalty??

So what movement did Florida make that actually got called?

I would like to know this.

Apparently, the officiating fraternity is VERY defensive about being questioned.

A number of the older guys are. While they aren't all like this...some are very unwilling to explain a call, etc.

Although it isn't required, if there is a break in the action I'll always give a coach a reply...they usually appreciate it and it goes a long way in the general respect for both sides.

Offer your services - we would all be that much better for it.

Did you see Florida get flagged? That should answer your question.

AGAIN.....you're an azz....condescending azz at that.......

We crossed the line of scrimmage when the center moved his head.....as he had the entire first half.......and it was called against UF.

SO.....again......what is YOUR expert and less a-hole worthy version of things...PLEASE tell us....

DAMN!

If you are an experienced game official, why are you unwilling to answer the question.

As a lay person and fan, I would like to know why Florida was called one time, but not any others?

Who said that?

I haven't seen a prefect game yet and probably never will.

He asked a question and I answered it. Obviously they did something illegal - I saw a flag hit the ground - I'll assume you did as well.

You are dealing with SEC refs.

Learn to live with it.

It's been asked and answered throughout the thread, but long story short there was some good coaching going on and LSU forced the issue.

Think of it like a team that shifts prior to every play - as long as they are doing it all game long and it doesn't pull anyone off, you don't have a problem - but as soon as you decide that something like that is going to become a part of your gameplan in a short yardage situtation and it draws a reaction, then there is a problem - (for an example, think back to LSU/Alabama last season).

No you didn't, he said was what UF was doing at anytime a penalty. And you replied with...well did you see a flag?

Implying that one of the following happened:

- No flag was thrown: UF was committing a legal action
- Flag was thrown: UF was committing an illegal action

Apparently, you discredit the notion that the officials *gasp* could be wrong...

Well, I saw a flag in the third quarter - that was a pretty good indication that they had fouled, no?

And apparently, you have reading comprehension problems since I just told you that I had never once seen a perfect game.

So the rule is only applicable in short yardage situations when people jump? Funny, I missed that language in the book...

Defensive much? I wanted an ANSWER....i spent 10 minutes watching you disrespect Golfer...act like a total azz.....and then ask you a question.

EVERY reply has been condescending.......

I've heard enough from you.....and don't feel the need to respond to you after this post.....that my friend, is validation.

Go spew your venom somewhere else.....I hope Golfer realizes the same.
