Nobody is saying that. The paragraph covers false starts as well as shifts and spells out scenarios that constitute false starts.

Sure he is - he bolded this as support for his argument:

ARTICLE 4. a. If a snap is preceded by a huddle or shift, all players of the offensive team must come to an absolute stop and remain stationary in their positions, without movement of the feet, body, head or arms, for at least one full second before the ball is snapped (A.R. 7-1-4-I) [S20].

That refers solely to shifts, not to false starts.

I'll ask you, is it possible for a snapper, who has placed his hand on the ball to shift?

Apparently you missed the part that says huddle OR shift...

How do you and arrakis try to crucify golfer on this and at no point over any solid evidence for your objections. Why don't you answer every question you've asked him and provide some sort of citation or even explanation for you counter points?

Shifts AND False Starts...

By going to that section, it's ANOTHER example you don't grasp the intent of the rule or the philosophy of application. You just don't get it; but that's understandable.

Try to crucify him? Please.

Why should I answer the questions for him? He provided the citation, he just doesn't know how to read it.

It's crystal clear to us. You are blinded by your own misplaced faith in your own comprehension skills.

I'll give you a hint. Figure out what [S20] means - that should give you the answer you seek.

Go back and look at the screen shots earlier in the thread and tell me that is not illegal. No one ever answered them.

I did that a LONG way back in this thread. Mr. "I've read the Rule Book" is providing entertainment for us with his continued misinterpretation of the rule. You can't explain anything to someone who *thinks* he knows something, is convinced he does, but doesn't.

I'm not even really sure what that means, but this is why it is impossible to have discussion on rules with fans who have no idea how to read the rulebook.

That's like going to Spain and asking some guy how a Spanish book should be read.

It says, what it says. I don't get what you're getting at. Arrakis has done an excellent job already of explaining the entire thing and I'm not going to lay it all back out at 1 a.m. Go through the thread - it's all right there in black and white.

Your screen shots don't prove anything.

Do you expect a flag every time T-Bob points at a defender prior to the snap too?

Well he's dine a better job if explaining his stance than you have. All we've seen from you are accusations that he doesn't know what he's talking about without any real explanation of why he's wrong.

Well, for starters, he's using a section of the rule that refers to shifts to argue about a false start.

Maybe you should figure out what S20 is as well.

I'd have this discussion if LSU wasn't involved.
