How about credit for installing the 3-3-5 defense

in two weeks with the depth on dline due to opt outs
That defense seems to give LSU fits, nice to have that package available in the future

Minus a couple of trick plays against our inexperienced front 7 it was dominant.

It was a good idea. But the fact Purdue offense was horrible. They were able to not play very much. 3 and out helps defense.

Playing a depleted Purdue team definitely helped but 3-3-5 is something House has run elsewhere, so truthfully I'm surprised it took him this long to pull that out of his bag of tricks.
Especially if we run small across the front next year, sprinkle that in and just slant the linemen all over the place (a la TCU vs. Michigan). It'll give o-lines fits.

Yep - I did get a kick out of them cheering our basketball team when we crossed half court for the first time that year.
