There are some ghetto arse hotels in Alberta City (about 5 miles north of Tuscaloosa) that are first come first serve but you better be packing and not mind a few cock roaches. I think it's called the Moonwink or something like that. I actually know some people that stayed there a couple years back. They survived.

Not a bad place. Just nothing to do. Lot of LSU people stayed there two years ago.

The Tuscaloosa-to-B'ham drive after the game is murder. However, there's apparently a back way out of T-town that gets you a long way up the road. Suggest you check the local maps or even the highway department. They're all for trying to ease conjestion.

Tigah n-T-town,

Last time we were in T-town, we partied with Extreme Tailgaters behinds the Hounds Tooth, but don't think they're going to make it, so need a place to park and set up a tent n' cook. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Tnx.

So anyone have a suggestion on where to park

If I had never been to Tuscaloosa before I would just pay the 10 bucks and park at Central HS and walk. After the game come out of Central HS and turn left at the light onto 15th Street and hit I 359 when I left. Do not go down McFarland before or after the game. It is a disaster.

I park at the little (Nationwide??)insurance parking lot across the street from Checkers near Central for free and walk. Its about a 15 min walk to the stadium from here or a 20 min walk to the quad. I am home in about 15 mins after the game and I live about 5 miles south of town.

Things being the way they are now, unless you know someone who has a "regular reserved & paid for spot" near the stadium or strip you are gonna be SOL!! I usually meet up with some Bammers I know on the quad and watch tv and drink beer with them. Sometimes I head to the Houndstooth and drink a few pregame beers there.

If I were you and wanted to set up a spot.... I would look to set up near Central HS (I saw a ton of LSU fans in canopies there 2 years ago) or near the soccer fields and softball field close to DCH Hospital. There will be plenty of space in these areas but it will be a helluva walk from here to the stadium. Sometimes I park near a bank at the intersection of Queen City Ave and Univ Blvd and there are a few parking lots there but once again it is a long walk from here.

If you wanta just drink beer and watch football and dont want the hassle of finding a place and bringing a bunch of crap up here just go to the Tooth pregame and watch the other games on the TV's there and drink $3 beers. The Tooth has been upgraded from what it was in years past and has a lot of room now. To me that may be the best option but for you coming up here 5 hours you may wanna make a day of it.

Take Hwy 11 through Vance or Hwy 216 through Brookwood. Hwy 216 through Brookwood and Abernant will be wide open and links back up with I 59 at exit 100 but it is very curvy so be careful. One stretch of it is actually known as dead mans curve.

Go to the Tooth or any bar there on the strip and they will have a big crowd & TV's to watch. Beer usually about 2-3 bucks a pop. Or you can walk out to "the quad" and find me (I will be the only MFer out there with my LSU stuff on) and I will need some allies that day and will have plenty to drink. Even my wife hates my guts that day. 2 years ago some frat boy slapped me on the back out there, welcomed me to Tuscaloosa and ran off. I could not catch him though.

so you're saying it's pretty much a narrow, straight drive using your analogy... name me a supermodel with curves
