The WKU game is presumably safe - even from a complete overlook.
Ole Miss, while extremely beatable, is still an SEC team - with a history of giving us problems when they shouldn't. With the Nutt situation, they may play a lot looser with nothing left to lose.

Oct 22 ARK L 29-24

Nov 5 @UK L 30-13
Obviously, Ar-Kansas is a top 10 team. Nothing more needs to be said about them.
If we get through that, we then have a top 25 team waiting in Atlanta.
This is no cake walk. As fans, we can look forward all we want. I just hope the team isn't. CLM doesn't seem squash the looking ahead much in his media talks, although he does treat it all as hypotheticals.

WKU will be a scrimmage. I'm not too worried about looking past that one. Ole Miss only concerns me because Houston Nutt's crazy arse will probably pull out all of the stops--even moreson than usual--and his players may want to send him out in style. On the other hand, they may quit on him altogether. We have to be prepared for their best, however.
Arky is probably as good as they've been and they always give us fits. I don't think anyone is looking past them. They almost kept us from getting the crystal ball four years ago.

If you saw his comments immediately after the game, I don't think you need worry about Miles having his team focused. He said each of the remaining games is more important than the Alabama game. I don't think he will let the team have an emotional collapse.
Even so, most likely, LSU comes out a little flat v. WKU. It is virtually impossible to maintain a high emotional intensity week after week during a football season. The schedule sets up nicely for LSU leading into the Arkansas game. LSU can afford some let down in intensity this week and, perhaps even next. LSU's talent should be enough to handle both teams, even if the players are somewhat flat.
I know that Nutt traditionally plays LSU tough, but it may well be that this year Ole Miss is mostly looking ahead to MSU and may well be writing off the LSU game. They would far rather beat MSU, which they will see as a reachable goal, than LSU, which is probably not something they will regard as really doable under the circumstances.
In any event, LSU will still have to be on guard, especially v. Ole Miss. But having WKU this week is a real boon in that it will let the team have an emotional break before the last 2 games.

The offensive game plan will be to have no more than two pass play's...but, should have Mett playing the entire second half..

This team hasn't "looked forward" at any point this season...a season full of "look forward" games.
Miles has been in this spot before (2007) and he damn well knows you can from hero to goat in one game. Can LSU be beaten? Yes, anything can happen, but it won't be because this team is overlooking anyone.

We should be sporting about a 90 game win streak at that point!

Nutt's finishing out the year--hence my "send him out in style". But I, too, believe we kill them. It's just not the type of game I'd look past. Besides Bama, our closest game this year was Miss State. Not exactly the best team we've played.

I am just hoping that we face S Carolina instead of Georgia. Bulldogs have improved over the coarse of the season.

say what? you're not listening or you didn't hear LM's postgame. I totally agree with your premise that some folks have put the cart before the horse and hopefully that attitude is minimal to zilch in the locker room. I know we have new leaders but we could really use Kelvin Sheppard to keep everyone grounded. this years squad has a couple of "free spirits" that need the kind of direction that only clear thinking contemporaries can give.

We don't have enough quality 3rd string NFL quality CBs for that game - frick what are we going to do!!!!

I don't hear everything CLM says to press for sure. Maybe Lil' Nicky got me programmed with his anger of any talk that isn't the next game during his tenure at LSU. CLM is much more loose and will at least talk about hypotheticals - at least with his "we'd have a strong want to compete in such an instance" talk.
The coach can control the team to only a certain degree - even Mr. Uber Control CNS.
