Honest question: What's the reaction if Les Miles is shockingly fired today?

I spent this morning with my dad, and over breakfast we mostly talked about LSU football. We talked about Les Miles' recent struggles, but neither of us believed he is really on the hot seat this year.

What is your reaction if Alleva does something crazy and fires him today? Are you immediately thinking about the buyout? Are you worried about the next hire? Excited? A lot of people are unhappy with Miles, but what is the honest reaction if he goes today? Which from the tone on this board would probably be the best for the program long term.

Next hire. Talent alone and rent-a-wins should dictate winning seasons for any coach given the current state of affairs. I would want to see who the choice would be to move things forward.

I don't want him fired. I want him to fix shite. I'm being delusional to think that will happen but maybe a good part of that is the fear of the unknown.

No, but crazier things have happened. I'm simply asking the question to see if people really realize what they are asking for. I remember when Sherman was fired kinda feeling bad that week. Like maybe we'd made a mistake. And then when we missed on Richt and Petersen, I really started to question the decision.

We have Fulmer 2.0. This will drag on for another 3 years minimum.

Exactly. Wouldn't Tennessee have been better off just firing him sooner. And let's be real, the talks were very similar at this point.
