Have we ran a play that Holliday runs a deep post or fly pattern?

If not, why?

Seems with his speed, he would demand two DBs with him every time, opening up single coverage underneath for Dickson, Byrd, Lafell, etc. Making it much easier on our QBs and really softening the defense up for RBs as well.

Of course we would have to toss it to him every now and then when he has beaten the double team by, ohhhhhhhh, say.......10 yards.

Just a thought I had here this morning.

I think he would be suited at DE.

A fly route every now and then would a good idea, if anything to keep the defense in check.

i think they will open up the offense a little more for this game. no use in showing auburn that we are gonna use holliday on deep routes in film. let them see it for the first time in person!

I personally like the idea. I'm sure with his speed he could get under those otherwise overthrown balls as well

Glad to see my idea has continued to take root in folks. Outside pass rusher ftw... our better yet outside punt rusher ftw2...

But I agree, get him the ball more. Devine was running it fine and for good yards last night and he is no bigger then TH. Just because we have other talented folks on the team at certain positions should not exclude using TH. His speed can overcome alot of bad luck and make something out of nothing more times then not.

...not that we have a qb who can throw an accurate pass longer than say, 7 yards

Unless Hatch has been holding out big time, I don't think he would be able to throw a pass that could catch Holliday. Maybe they should just line Holliday out wide and as soon as Hatch says hike he drops back and just throws it as far as he can and hope he still doesn't under throw him.

With Hatch at QB, not a chance
With RP or JaMarkus under center, a slight chance

I herd he has issues catching passes because of his small hands. I am also woried abou him catching a good sky punt in traffic. BUT I would love to see them try the deep ball.

I love the idea...however, once they realize he's not on a reverse or an end around, they could jam him at the line and he'll probably have a tought time getting through.

Last year one of the LSU coaches mentioned that one problem with using Holliday on something other than a bubble screen is that he's hard to see through the linemen and linebackers, being so short.

I think we see LSU throw a pass or two his way in this game, but I would think more in a screen or shorter pass than something deep.

All ideas are great IF they work out. I would love to see some of the things mentioned on here. However, if it backfires, it could get ugly. I think we'll see conservative stuff until coaches see the QB's with more confidence. Here's to seeing those guys feeling good in the pocket passing. You have to admit it would be nice watching TH outrun and then catch a long ball.

I suspect we will see a trick play involving TH, more Dickson, and possibly something involving Toliver. It's been rumored all week.

You guys are just like the coaches-no one understands that TH's best use is at DT running stunts. Can you say all-time LSU sack leader?
