Dude Yadier Molina is a career .279 hitter and has hit over .300 3 out of the last 5 seasons. In one of the two other seasons he hit .293.

So if our SS AND Second baseman are great on Def. but hit 200 should they stay in the lineup.
No. We would take them entirely out of the lineup though. Not DH and bat a pitcher. A catcher at 50% CS is worth about 70 points in his average.

A career .300 hitting catcher is pretty much a 1st ballot hall of famer 99% of the time....Joe Mauer, with 9 yrs in the league, is almost already there...some would say he is there.

Forgot about Posey, Molina...not consistently over .300

so lets lump molina in as a 300+ hitter for shits and giggles. there were 3 catchers who hit over 300 last year. point is, catchers dont have to hit in order to play and be valuable

I think if anything they would DH him. He's to strong behind the plate to take out the game. My opinion.
WTF???

Also I know he ain't current but Pudge Rodriguez played over 20 F'in years and hit a career .296....that shite is insane for a catcher.

Dumbassery......a common affliction on this website.

I can't honestly say that I see a catcher playing right now that will play 20 years....much less play 20 years and hit .300 for his career.
