I don't know what miles has against speed, but he always favors the bigger backs and not the faster ones. I still think ford is the fastest with great vision. He has shown he can run between the tackles. He is also the strongest on the team. I would love to see him get into a rythm. He could be dangerous.

But I give up.

I agree with you on Ford. He looks like he has all the tools needed to become a very good back. When I see him run the ball he just seems like an NFL caliber back. Not sure what keeps holding him back, but I'm not convinced it's all just CLM being CLM. There has to be something else.

even splitting time....if he were a feature back, he would have a shot at 2000 yards...dude is a beast......

Hilliard looks very average to me.

If he was the feature back in the "committee" then yes he would easily go over 1000, I would say between 1150 and 1300 yards. Ware had 177 carries last year which is about 50 more than the #2. He also only had 33 carries over his last 5 games and he missed a game.

177/13(games played) = 13 carries a game.
144/7(games before ssp and Bama game)= 20 carries a game

Miles still has a feature back even if he runs by committee.

I'd say if Hilliard was the feature, he'd get about 18 carries because he's also a power back which you use in goaline and 3rd & 4th short yardage situations.

18x5.2(his ypc last year)= 93.6 yds a game
Over the course of 13 games would give you 1216.8yds

As the featured back, I could easily see him with 1200yds and 16 TDs.

I like the change of pace Blue brings LSU but I just don't see him being a better fit for a Les Miles offense than either Kenny Hilliard or Jeremy Hill. Those guys were made to play for Les Miles. I think Blue will wear down eventually running the ball for Les. Hilliard is also one of those guys who gets stronger as the game goes.

All 4 backs will get carries late in the season. It will wear other teams out. Hilliard maybe we'll see.
