Said athlete could've finished last semester with a 1.9.

would he have been eligible for the bowl game then?
I dont think so. A student would be on academic probation if they got a 1.9 and then kicked out if they dont get it over 2.0 cumulative by the end of the next semester. (I believe this is accurate)

thats why if OP's story is legit, it couldn't be buga

exactly, that is why he's getting bashed

we all realize there is a GPA requirement to get into the game

either way, ticket reader doesn't give the reason for denying an ID, so OP is an idiot given that fact too

It's been stated many times there are a dozen reasons other than GPA. People freaking out over nothing.

OP's story said this player was being congratulated for his brother coming to play at LSU next year. Who else would that be?

So, you didn't read the whole thread and don't know what you're talking about.
Calm down, nancy. I was just saying being a full time isnt good enough to get into any game with an ID. That's why I asked if there were noticeable absences in the bowl game.

Wrong. 2.0 is the GPA requirement but they have until their last year begins before it impacts their eligibility.

I think liar son lied because he knew gullible dad would rush to the rant with the "scoop" from said liar son.

Overall and untrustworthy family.

we're not speculating anything. OP made sure to let us know it was Buga. Only thing we care about is the fact that this was obviously completely made up, shitty troll job, or honest mistake

ETA: we're not tryin to figure out who it was because it was obviously bullshite from the start

Yes I know that, I was just answering the possibilities. It can only be two.

It's obvious who he's referring to.

I think it's bullshite. At least the grade issue.

So you're saying an athlete can stay in school with a 1.2 or a 0.6 and it doesnt matter until his 4th year of eligibility?

I don't think his son would of a been able to relay Teuhema's name.

He obviously posted the thread to out the kid. Otherwise he would of just asked the question about GPA.

The University requires all undergraduate students to maintain a grade point average which ensures that they are making progress toward the 2.0 grade point average minimum requirement for graduation. After a student-athlete has declared a major program of study or intended major, only grades acceptable for degree credit in that major may be applied toward calculation of satisfactory progress. Degree applicability is determined by the school or college offering the major program of study.

o Probation
Student-athletes whose GPA falls below the levels required by their school or college may be placed on academic probation. Academic probation might not affect the athletic eligibility of a student-athlete in the first three years unless he/she fails to meet academic standards for students on probation. A coach may impose practice sanctions or additional requirements to ensure improvement in the student-athlete's academic standing at the University.

I did not start the thread to stir shite or troll. It is possible that my son misunderstood what he heard or someone in the conversation was making a joke at his and ultimately my expense. The personal attacks that resulted are part of the territory on the rant, I guess, but this was not made up or intended to harm. I certainly should have stuck with my original intention to keep the name out of it.

Same thing that happened to my friend. Academic probation. If he would've been under a 2.0 the following semester again, I think he would've gotten kicked out of the school

Eta: this happened to him our freshman year because I remember his card being denied at The Box

What is definition of 'academic standards for students on probation'?

And I dont think you can stay on academic probation for 3 years but shockingly you might be right. So this is different than criteria for a regular student? Unreal.

PS - I dont hink the rule means you can stay on academic probation for 3 years. I think it means if you go on academic probation at any time in your first 3 years you're not automatically ineligible. However if you get under a 2.0 the next semester you're done.

That's correct. If you're under 2.0 two semesters in a row, you're out
