once an offensive slump manifested itself in defensive mistakes.
Something doesn't add up. Slaughter is the only regular starting infielder who hasn't made an error this season.

I think his defense has been outstanding.

Reynolds has sucked mostly.

Even taking Reynolds out of consideration, Bain, Beck, Gilbert and Newman should be plenty enough pen to get you through the weekend assuming Lange or Poche don't have short outings.

I honestly have no idea.

The comment PM made about our bullpen not getting enough work, while I completely disagree, can be argued based on comparing this year's innings to last year's. However, last year, we couldn't find a 3rd starter and Lange had lots of troubles where he was pulled much earlier than an "Ace" should be. I think it's a terrible comparison and argument. Our bullpen has had plenty of opportunities to work throughout the week.

But again, I'm okay with the Hess move. I've started 2 topics on it now; April is going to be rough. Lots of traveling and a ton of games made more difficult by the flip-flopping weekend schedule. This will be most difficult on the pitching staff, and I'm fine with putting extra emphasis on the SEC series.

You have to have perfect weekends from everyone. 7+ innings from every starter. Winning by +4 in at least 1 game. 2 back-to-back close games can't happen. And you have no one available for a situational, 2-batter outing.
