Totally agree, as Big Ben said it wasn't even a strike - it was below the knees with good movement. Give the hitter credit. He mowed the next two hitters down to end the inning and was lights out the rest of the way.

Not only was it a good pitch. Maybe could have thrown it in the dirt but Hess made him look like a fool on the exact same pitch before. The hitter made a great one pitch adjustment, which doesn’t happen in college baseball often, and went down and got it.

I agree for the most part. Base clearing home runs are like high sugar energy drinks, they give you a ton of energy/momentum short term but it’s difficult to sustain. I like base clearing doubles to keep the rally train rolling.
