Usually they are shaded to the guard on the TE's side. Gap between Hitt and Helms is what I was talking about.

We played against a big fat guard in HS and he gave the plays away because he wouldn't put his hand down very hard if it was a pass play, but would be rocked forward if it was a run play. That guy was only 5'9", but had to be 360 lbs.

That's a NT in 4-3. But in 3-4 they usually take on the center because they have both A gap assignments.

Herm is a frikkin' bulldozer. IMHO it's a mismatch between him and Cody. Cody's only shot to disrupt our running game will be to essentially plug gaps. The way Charles Scott's vision is... I just don't see that being an issue.
Bama's secondary is more of a reason to be concerned.

Now... can we move on to talk about the UF matchups. I have a feeling they are going to play down against Arky and will be sky high for LSU. This will be basically be a scrimmage for the Gaytors.

Cody manhandled UGA's 305 lb center, he is going to cause problems for Helms. Some of the plays where he lined up on the center was like watching an NFL guy going against a high schooler. Cody can move his feet, don't let his size lead you to believe otherwise.

Herm has been beaten maybe a handful of times during his entire career at LSU. There is not a single defender that has ever outperformed him a single game. The closest matchup was actually against tOSU and it was because of their depth at DLine. My money is on Herm... dare I say it it, barring injury.

Herm is 375, almost a Trindon more than him.

Not if he's on the ground!

True, But most of the time Cody lines up in a gap even in a 3-4.

I believe that Herm and Hitt will crack him pulling a couple of times and he'll stay put..don't see him being a big factor..LSU handles the big guys pretty good..it's the quick 260 DT (Tulane last year, Miss St this year, Auburn - traditionally) that give them problems..

What is the size of Florida's D-Line?

Yep. However, bama plays a modified 3-4/4-3, not a true 3-4.

Gonna be fun to watch.

Really, You played against a big fat guard and he gave the plays away in HS???

The thread is talking about a matchup, CODY is a DEFENSIVE PLAYER. Your comment doesn't have anything to do with this discussion.

By the way....CODY will not be moved.
