Tyler had inferior talent to work with, outside of a few skill position players like Faulk.

Trivia time: Faulk had 6,833 career all purpose yards. How many of those were receiving yards?
A. 1765
B. 2189
C. 600
D. 1290

d you can go ahead and respond to your All Purpose failure whenever you're ready.

Catching the ball doesn't count in All Purpose yards?

Which LSU RB caught "134 yards", last year or the year before?

I'd take Tyler's O-line as well but agree we have much better receivers now.

Sure they do. He just didn't have anywhere near as many as you assumed.

Ware missed it by 33 yards. I guess that's what you had in mind when you mentioned Faulk when the receivers discussion came up

This can't be true. Tyler had Faulk and he was an All Purpose All American.

Faulk was the LSU #3 WR on the 1997 & 1998 teams.

Shifting things to fit your agenda won't work. You already sound like a Cretin for trying to make Kevin Faulk look bad.

Reguardless I will us the ole Bum Phillips saying he can take his and beat yours then take yours and beat his.

Switch Herb and JJ 2009 and 2010 win 2-3 games more and switch JJ to Tyler era and they win 2-4 games less.

Now you are just making shite up. How did I attempt tp make Faulk look bad? I stated facts that flew in the face of the bullshite you were attemtping to pass off. Faulk is my favorite player of all time and he "stayed home" long before it was cool to do so.

With all that being said, he is still totally irrelevant in this discussion no matter how great of a player he was and no matter how many receptions and receiving yards you incorrectly assumed he had.

And he caught a total of what 38 passes in those two years for less than 400 yards. That further proves my point about how bad the WRs were and that Jefferson has had more to work with in that regard.

But again, the original comment was "all things being equal".

Lead team in receptions:

2010 Terrence Toliver: 41 catches 579 yards 5 TDs (Games played in 13)

1998 Larry Foster: 56 catches 722 yards 4 TDs (Games played in 11)

Interesting choice of seasons. Since we're assuming those numbers have nothing to do with the ability of each QB, what would the comparison between...I don't know....2009 and 1997 look like? How about 2008 and 1996?

And you are right, all things being equal was the comment. And because of that I'll take Tyler EVERY time.

Uh having Herb Tyler throwing the ball and not coming out and putting up 4 total yards in a McNeese St game (JJ) or 47 total yards against ULM tends to extend the offenses time on the field and get players more opportunities to compile stats. Having JJ out there going thru his 3 and out streaks hurts his players attempt to put up stats. Just because JJ's receivers didnt put up as good stats doesnt mean they were as or more talented just they had JJ throwing them the ball and his negative effect on their stats was huge.

"Just because Glenn Dorsey won the Outland & Lombardi, doesn't mean Luther Davis isn't as talented. And dadgum, Patrick Peterson won the Bednarik & Thorphe, but Phelon Jones is 'da Bomb"
