It appears the 85 jersey didn't have V-neck, or if they did, it didn't go all the way down to stitch going across the chest

This one definitely has the "V" neck, although I can see how it might look less pronounced when wearing shoulder pads underneath it. If the '85 jersey is that much different it would seem to rule out that year and reduce the number of potential former owners to three.

Now that I have looked a little closer (computer vs phone) it could be either 85 or 87 i have seen pics that resemble both styles closely

IDK if it's been said but it still may have been Gordy's jersey. Just wore it for a game and got a new one

I think it's very unlikely. He had been in possession of the jersey longer than Gordy wore the number.
It was a naïve, child's assumption on my part to make that leap.
I'm friends with Gordy on Facebook and will ask him to be doubly sure, amd also inquire about his possible contacts with the other potential candidates.

Here are a couple close-ups of the sleeve design. I've read on here that the stripe length has been modified in the past, so posting these just in case they can help further narrow it down at all.
