Heading into the bye week, I am gaining confidence against Alabama.

Alabama is a team with plenty of flaws. They haven’t yet speedster themselves from the rest of the pack and probably won’t this season like they normally do.
Daniels is playing his best football
Night game is Death Valley
Getting Major Burns, Jack Bech, and Garrett Dellinger
Those are just some of the obvious reasons to be excited but to even dig a little deeper…
Alabama defense isn’t nearly as good as it has been in the past and we have the defensive personnel to stop them as proven last year in the 20-14 heartbreaker @Alabama.
Armoni Goodwin gets another couple weeks on that hamstring. He should be closer to 100% come kickoff.
I never go in with full confidence against a Nick Saban coached team but I feel really good about our chances.
Let’s enjoy our first peaceful Saturday since September 4th before I keep rambling on however. Hard to hide excitement about this upcoming game.

I would be more confident if I was more confident in our D secondary and special teams

Glad your confidence is up.
Will you suit up with the team?

If JD gets his eyes checked and learns how to throw to a wide open receiver and get the ball out in under 5 minutes, we have a chance. I don’t see that happening and Jenkins can’t bail him out of bad throws every play.

There seem to be some similarities between last year's Alabama team and this one.
In 2021 Alabama barely got by Florida on the road with Florida failing to convert a game-tying 2 point conversion attempt late. Alabama then handily beat a perceived threat (Ole Miss) before losing on a walk-off FG on the road (A&M). They followed up the loss by dominating Mississippi St. (and Tennessee) before playing LSU.
This year Alabama barely got by Texas on the road. Following that game there were questions as to just how good Alabama was. Those were eased somewhat when they beat a perceived threat (Arkansas) by 23. They then survived a final play at the end of the A&M game before losing on the road with a walk-off FG. They followed up the loss by dominating Mississippi St.
Last year's team wasn't "dominant" relative to prior teams, but they were able to survive scares from LSU and Auburn en route to a National Championship game appearance.
Point being, just because they have a loss and a few scares to date doesn't mean they haven't been the best in college football over the last 15 years in finding a way to win even if they don't have their "A" game/team.
I think you can make the argument this is the most formidable threat (outside of 2019) LSU has presented since maybe 2013...which was the last LSU team to have the offensive prowess, particularly at QB, to be a challenge. The 2014-2018 were limited because of a terrible offensive approach or bad QB play. 2020 and 2021 LSU was limited by horrible head coaching. Yet, even in those years LSU had a few games where if one or two things go a different way they may win (notably 2014 and 2021)

The last couple of years Bama has been borderline bad on the road. Night game at LSU is definitely winnable for the Tigers. Can't give the game away like against Tennessee. If the team plays like they did against Ole Miss, I think LSU wins by 10.

Lol jD been probably the best rated QB in nation over last 2 games. And people still complain. It’s unreal boys

If we come with the right game plan in the first half we can win
LSU cannot fall behind line Auburn or Ole Miss
Keep it close then make the run at them late

I had a lot of confidence in our Tigers leading up to the Miami game in 1988. Take a peek back at history and see how that one turned out.
I hope you're much better with these feelings of confidence than I have been in my life. I'd love to see Bama go home with a second loss under their belt after visiting Baton Rouge.

We hear this every year in the first week of November. There isn't an unbiased reason to feel confident. Definitely okay to be hopeful, but confident after watching the Tennessee game is unwarranted. Sorry to rain on your parade, but I don't want you to be overly disappointed. The defense will have to play much better than they have played so far. Cannot go down by 14, 17, or 21 in this one. The QB needs to hit the many wide open receivers that he is missing and he needs to get rid of the football more often/ sooner. I hope these things come together and Bama has a bad night. If they play the way they did against Tennessee, the outcome will not favor the tigers. I like your optimism and Fandom though.

I worry about their receivers running around wide open. Bryce Young will not miss like Dart did.

Need a few friendly bounces and maybe a tipped ball fall our way. But yeah it could def happen.

I was on that page on Sun. and Mon. I'm starting to get back to being a little more objective and admitting that the team has been really exciting, but no question about it, they have flaws. Bama always has those wrinkles dialed up after 2 weeks of prep to exploit every vulnerability. That's what concerns me.

Thinking about Will Campbell and Emory jones having to block Will Anderson and Dallas Turner should quell any confidence gains

This ain't paw paws Tigers either.

Damn I hate posts like this. So unless someone plays for lsu, they aren’t allowed to comment on how they think things will go?

They got Saban. We got Kelly.
This is going to be classic win for the Tigers.

Even after allowing all those points and yards to UT, they are 7th in defensive YPP and 11th in scoring defense.
They are also 10th in offensive YPP and 5th in Scoring Offense.
That’s a very good and well-balanced team. They are deeper and more talented than us. We will need to play a flawless game and the crowd needs to help.
We can do it, though.

Not a word about the true turnaround in this team, the OL and defense. About right. Probably didn't even know how much that they have improved..at least simpletons.
