Nobody was run off. Both Rivers and Rettig got beat out by younger players. LSU QBs play in a pro-scheme and are required to be able to pass well. It's just favorable to have a QB with wheels too. Be glad that we have the talent that Jennings and Harris possess.

Bet he was thinking "hell yea, me and Mett have a lot of the same attributes; I'll be able to slide right in, no problem. Look at this hair for fricks sake"……"Wait wtf is this dual threat shite? When does free drinks start anyway?"

So what QBs besides Jennings and Harris will be on the roster??

WR Rob Bolden who has thrown 300 more college passes than our competing QBs.

I guess we're totally ignoring that guy who played QB the last 2 years?

You make it seem like we're going to run QB runs and options on every play next year. Why would you rather an immobile QB compared to a QB who can burn everyone when they drop back in coverage. The QB will always be the rusher with the best advantage. Imagine what we could have done last year if Mettsiah had wheels.

That's why I was saying I had hope. But it seems like now that Mett is gone CLM is sliding back into his old tendencies.

What more could we have wanted on offense? Our defense is what got exposed by UGA and Bama.

Can anyone honestly say that they don't feel relieved to have a QB that prevents Miles from getting that itch to call a QB run?

I can honestly say that.

Kind of convenient how Miles only calls the plays when something bad happens or something you don't like. That's not terrible logic or anything

I'm just sick of our coaches running off the pocket passers. First Rivers, now Rettig. Can't they see the success they had with Mett under Cam?

Rivers was a huge project to begin with and he was not developing. He is not going to start at Vandy and possibly won't be playing backup either. Rettig was beat by Jennings last year and by Harris this year. At that same time Bolden was beat by Rettig plus the other two. It's obvious that they feel the best two QBs on the roster are Jennings and Harris.

I like Rettig and thought he'd be the backup over Harris this year before spring, but the kid has had a hard time transferring from his heavy pass shotgun spread attack to pro style under center. Has really choppy footwork, but decent accuracy against air.

Look for him to have a great career where ever he lands. Hopefully this doesn't factor in to a potential recruit from OOS that could play here.

worth staying another year and spring, IMO. Although he may not be receiving as much attention as he'd like with the focus on Harris and Jennings.

Dude, Rettig isn't Mett. If he was, he'd be #1 on the depth chart. It's that simple.

Apparently Miles AND Cam agree that AJ/Harris are the top 2 QBs we have. That leaves Rettig at 3. If he decided to not stick it out, then that's on him, not the coaching staff.

JJ/JL under bad OCs have really jaded people.

In Miles 10 years, LSU has had JR (not mobile), Flynn (mobile), RP (mobile), JJ/JL (no comment), Mett (not mobile).

If anything, I think Miles has tried to play the best QB arm.

Yep everything Dat said...

Plus, LA is loaded with big time QB prospects in 2016. I mean loaded. 4 legit major QB recruits at least, and most likely more.
