went past week 4 with a majority assumption that the offense is just bad.

and were proven wrong with improved play in weeks 5-12.

I can't recall tRant ever being disproven in a situation like this.

2019 defense

Jayden Daniels

Burrow but it was more his junior year. He shut everybody up Sr. year.

I'm sure there are more just going off the top of my head. Baseball hot takes are worse than football FYI.

For anyone who thought Burrows senior year was an anomaly clearly didn't pay attention to his junior year. It took him awhile to get going but by the end of the year he was putting up 400+ yard games that just carried right into his senior year. You could tell a switch flipped for him.

I actually remember scouts had this talking point in NFL as a 1 year wonder and I thought to myself, these guys get paid to evaluate? Did they not see the second half to his junior year?

just regarding offense for a single season.

Has there ever been an offense that everyone wrote off as bad in week 5 that ended up putting up big numbers in weeks 5-12?

ex:
a. everyone knew the offense was bad in 2009 after UF home game.
the offense did not improve that season

b. everyone knew our offense was bad in 2012 after 12-10 win against Auburn.
the offense (especially run game) improved but total offense as a whole remained ranked in the mid hundreds.

I mean you need context. Did we ever purposely go super conservative those years you named bc the QB was injured? Kelly has stated over and over the way we've played offense the first 3 weeks won't cut it in the SEC long term and they have to open it up more. He's telling you what his plan was, you just aren't listening.

Kind of in 2022. JD was a different player from the Florida game on.
