Do you think GC would rather a QB that fit his system, or one that he has to drastically change his system to accomodate?

You are saying we change our system dramatically just to fit a kid. . .simply because of his assumed "upside"?

Please tell me where I said "drastic" or "dramatic" changes. I said SOME changes. It's not like he is putting in a completely different offense. We will just see more of it that has not been used, but that has been in there the whole time.

You are basing your entire opinion on one scrimmage?

Yes, because it wasn't close. It isn't like Lee completed 1 or 2 more passes than Hatch did, or had 1 more TD pass than he did. Actually, to say it wasn't close is probably an understatement. Hatch completed a whopping 3 passes for about 25 yards before leaving, and made several mistakes in the process (terrible option pitch/fumble, taking a safety).

And the offense didn't change drastically when Lee was in the scrimmage, only its production.

ETA: On what do you base your assertion that Hatch is better? I know I already asked this once, but I fail to see how your previous answer was any different than the one I just provided...which apparently isn't good enough.

A switch from a spread to a pro-set isn't dramatic?

Since we did both with Flynn last year and did both with Hatch and Lee in the scrimmage...apparently not.

You do realize that not everything we run is from the spread correct? You can run pro-set and spread on back to back plays. People think just because a coach is labeled a "spread" coach that every play he runs is a "spread" play.

I thought we were talking about base sets?

Were we talking about using them sometimes?

Check the ETA comment in that post please.

And again, a scrimmage where one guy throws for 200+ yards & 2-3 TDs and the other guy throws for about 25 yards & 0 TDs and has more mental mistakes than the first guy.

This may come as a shock to you, but just because Hatch is in the game it doesn't mean LSU will never line up in the I and try to pound the ball at people. And just because Lee is in the game it doesn't mean LSU will never line up in the spread.

Wow, that's crazy!

You mean to tell me that Hatch isn't a strictly spread guy?

And Lee isn't a strictly pro-set guy?

Man, I learn something every day!

He would be more ideal in the spread.

He would need to be in the pro, to mask his lack of real mobility.

Lee is more mobile than you think. He's not Bledsoe in the pocket, watch his high school film and you can see some of it. He reminds me of Favre. A good drop back passer but can do a lot of things on the move.
