Was this the 8pm kickoff game? I felt bad for the Auburn people and LSU fans had to help groups of them get in the stadium.

No, but I saw a scrawny Florida fan get sucker punched for no apparent reason other than Florida just lost, circa 2005 or 2007.

I remember a bus from Alabama with the coach that left bama to coach at Kentucky- he played nfl at Green Bay.
I just can’t remember his name.
I remember fans rocking the bus - harmless fun

Bill Curry
Pretty sure he followed Bear Bryant

Auburn 2001
This was the rescheduled game in December because of 9/11. Whoever won this game went to Atlanta for the SEC Championship, which LSU had never been to before. This was also the famous game which the Auburn kicker tried to fight the LSU band after the halftime show. The last time Auburn had been in BR, the won in 1999 and smoked cigars at mid-field. A lot of pent up hate for Auburn then.

I remember reading a story about the '79 USC game. John Robinson said they could never forget the treatment they got when the bus arrived at the stadium for a walk through. Also later on coming out of a movie theater when they went as a team to see a movie Friday night. I'll see if I can find it and post it.
Edit: Here you go:
When USC visited LSU in '79

Sounds right (except for the 1900's part )
Curry followed Perkins.

I remember one time fans flipped the bus completely on its side and just started breaking the windows like savages.

Yes Tennessee...Not quite sure of the year... Fat Fulmer riding up front as the buss comes down the hill, turns by to go behind the east side... BANG.. Pint from the crown hits high on the passenger side window.. right in front of Fulmer.
There is the old Ed Simonetti story about the fans rocking the Buss the Friday before the game.

Why?
Make them feel like they are entering a war zone.. Will Anderson said they had “anxiety” going into Neyland.. LSU can double anything that happens at Neyland

Vs. O. Perry Walker, here. The game was called with 10mins left in the 4th due to their players and fans getting out of hand. Rocks were thrown at our bus on the way out. Helmets on, heads down.
