It's not like Jennings is reading defenses like Joe Montana. He failed to read the corner blitz against MSU and almost got kiled in the sack. He also missed a safety blitz in the first quarter last night. Harris has better escapablity and is much more accurate with the ball. I will take that and the true freshman learning experience over whatever Jennings brings to the table in terms of "reading" defenses.

Harris doesn't just have elite arm talent, he has elite NFL arm talent. This guy would have one of the strongest arms in the pro league.

It's a concern. He will not look as good vs Auburn or Bama and many who support him now will turn on him. He's still got a lot to learn and will take some lumps this year but looks like he could be a great QB in the future.

Lol.

There has been a group saying Harris was better since the spring game.

The "real" fans seem really upset that fact is true.

AJ DESERVES his chance too. he has done the best he can and it appears that he is falling short RIGHT NOW.
AJ has had a pretty good sampling of mediocrity, failure to protect the ball last night was the tipping point for me.

You are correct, this situation may evolve, I hope that AJ sticks with it, and capitalizes on any opportunity. It only makes our team better.

and this was a guess. based on extremely limited exposure; one bowl game and one practice scrimmage. the coaches know a HELL OF A LOT MORE about the strengths and weaknesses of each player than we do. in spite of what you think, you are NOT coming from a position of knowledge when you decide who the best player is. so to brag about calling harris the best long ago really is not a compliment to you.
This is 100% accurate

Apparently not. AJ did not look good yesterday.

Miles still doesn't know who played better

Reading defenses is not necessary on this level unless you are a pocket passer. Dak didn't read any defenses against us, hell, Tebow didn't. Cam
put BH on the move to throw and did play action's so he could get a good look at his primary and fire it to him. Look at a&M's Hill last night. Did he look adept at reading defenses? And people were saying he's the best in the country. Will not be as easy as Auburn, but I suspect their guy won't be doing much "defense reading" anyway. If he tries, that is a good thing for us because it means his primary isn't open.

as opposed to Jennings not producing vs. very simple defenses?

He made more progressions on that first td pass last night than Jennings has all season

Are people really still saying this after last night??

Seemed to me the players, who get this 1st-hand every-day experience you speak of, sure knew Brandon Harris was better or why would they have started playing better once he got in the game??

I think their main concern at this point is how Harris would respond taking the first snap at Auburn. I always remember Rohan's first start vs. Auburn, deer in the headlights and quickly down 14-0. It wouldn't surprise me to see Jennings get the first couple of series, then Harris taking over.

Kragthorpe can read defenses and is basically a QB coach on the field. Does that make him the starting QB? It's not like we are playing in the NFL here. Sure he is gonna have growing pains but he can make enough positive plays to make up for the negative.

Even though that was a cupcake team, that was the best QB performance I have seen in sometime at LSU. He did what he was supposed to do. When is the last time we scored 7 tds in a row against anyone?

It's obvious AJ isn't ready and I am sure at some point of the season we will need him. Maybe it will help him to watch a while.

C'mon bro if AJ was gonna play he'd have gone back in to start the 2nd half. Miles is stubborn but AJ left him with no choice. BH plays until he gets hurt.

Look this is not peewee football where everyone plays because they work hard. The coaching staff has raved about AJ's work but sometimes hard work is not enough. You have to have talent to go with it, and at the QB position leadership is huge. Harris has both of these.

Sometimes hard work is not enough. To be great at this game it take things that can't be taught.

I agree and think it may for the best. Bring Harris in after a series or two

What a stupid arse post. I seriously think some of retards post as many cliches as you can think of just to try and sound smart. Really you just sound like a complete dumbass.

Kind of like the dip shits that said Harris wouldn't play more than 9 snaps last night. Buncha fricking retards.

I think this is the only logical reason CLM was pushing for Jennings to be the starter. With that being said, BH should be the starter and it's clear that the team responds well with him at QB. With a sophisticated defense, the cost of doing business may be "check with me's" and possibly a few sacks and ints. I'm ok with that.
