jim harbaugh posted good record at a non FBS school (San Diego) like Kelly (GVSU)

Harbaugh then turned around a struggling academic program (Stanford) and found success like Kelly (ND)

Harbaugh then played in a Super Bowl (Kelly has not lol this is a major difference but hang with me)

Harbaugh ended up at more recent blue blood Michigan like Kelly now has with LSU. Did he win the natty in year 3? No. After two back to back 10 win seasons, he went 8-5 and finished unranked. He followed that up with three more mediocre to bad seasons, including a 2-4 covid season. He was a proven coach but his seat was HOT after 6 years. What happened next?

3 back to back playoffs and an undefeated natty year… here’s to hoping Kelly is defined for later successes in his contract than for his early struggles!

(this is clearly a cope as my last post berated Kelly but I also realize we can’t get out of this contract soon)

There are similarities a little. Bottom line, if Kelly wins a title, nobody cares about anything else.

Harbaugh was also really good at developing the most important position in all of sports. Kelly complains about lack of execution and slaps tables.

And he still has time to prove us wrong and get his feet under him. Big recruiting class coming in so we’ll see. Hoping it doesn’t take until year 7 like it did with harbaugh

Thing is he had unprecedented success at Stanford and was developing high end NFL talent there. He also had immediate and great success in the NFL, had an NFL pedigree to begin with and was a very good player in that league. Kelly did none of these things, he maintained a very advantageous situation at ND and won at the Nicholls level but that’s it.

What position group would that be? He was literally 8-5 his 3rd year and 2-4 in his 6th

Too many reactionary fans wanting to fire everyone all the time. This loss was complete shite. No excuses for that at all.

Now thst we got that out the way, give them man who inherited Ed O’s roster, AND HAS SAID HE’S BUILDING FOR LONG TERM SUCCESS VIA HIGH SCHOOL RECRUITING, a little wiggle room. His “year 3” comment probably didn’t see House being a flop and Denbrock leaving. He took a team that O went 5-6 with and got a few pieces and won the west. He’s made some bad hires but unlike les he fixes it quickly. Let this man get 3-4 full blown recruiting cycles. He ain’t going nowhere so sit back and enjoy the ride. If in another 2 years we’re still losing 3 games and looking inept when the entire roster is his guys, then can his arse. Sage Ryan and Major Burns start on this team out of necessity. We don’t have DL studs nor depth. He’s building that.

I actually think that Kelly will end up being okay. We are overreacting in a down year for a lot of schools.
