1) Miles got fired because he wouldn't throw the ball - he only threw 34.7% of the time.

2) O got hired with his promise to improve & emphasize passing.

And he has IMO, throughout O's first two years, he has passed 37% of the time. A noticeable improvement.

That’s what you were going on about with Goldrush about.

He told you what he did in the post-game Troy comments

To which you replied with

No he didn't. He mentioned being involved but not to what extent.

There you go.

Wrong. In fact it appears the offense didn't change at all the rest of the season. I'm trying to get someone to verify that. All Orgeron is saying is he eliminated some (not quantified) presnap movements in one game.

But its nice of you to knight for Goldfish.

Go read it again. He specified it was to that one game.
You even acknowledged that.

Yup. And in 2018 it was 40.9% - Another noticeable improvement

My guess is 45%+ in 2019

No. He said he eliminated some presnap movements. Outside of that the offense was exactly the same.

In fact, the offense was exactly the same in game 10 as it was in game 1.

You might want to read a little about the Saban/Kiffin relationship. Saban (a life-long D coach) micro-managed Kiffin's offense.

Worked out pretty well. I guess Saban was really the Broyles Award finalist instead of Kiffin.

Further, Saban has no problem humiliating asst coaches on national TV.

You remember when our coach called Burrow a dumbass on live TV?

Except when Saban ran Kiffin off the offense looked weak in the NCG>

Well, he got to the NC. Not too shabby of a job as the de facto offensive coordinator in addition to being the HC.

You should talk to the HC about the extent to his involvement in the offense for the remainder of the season. It seems like it's a burning desire of yours. Let us know what you find.

He admitted to being involved in the offense, so we do know he was involved. Hanigriff says he made changes by game 3. The coach later in the year echoed comments about the offense in preparation for the ND game saying "I'm the HC, we do what I want to do," just as he said after the Troy game.

That's a lot of circumstantial AND direct evidence brother. You want to know exactly what he did, go to the source and get a definitive answer.

With Kiffin. Fell flat without Kiffin.

I mean Buckeye said Saban was micromanaging. So I guess we can attribute a lot of the offensive success to Saban.

They lost by 4 points. It was a highly competitive game vs a worthy opponent. Pretty good showing by someone that's never been an OC in his life.

Didn't bother me a bit. Doubt it bothered Joe or his dad or his brothers either.

You can't single out O for not being PC without looking at most other HC's. I know of a HC who KO'ed an OC. The world didn't come to an end.

So why do you care so much about coaches getting chewed out? They're actually getting a paycheck.

I don't know this either, but there's no evidence Orgeron micromanaged anything outside of some presnap movement in one game.

I don't care.

My point is that these things are not unusual in the coaching game. You seem to think O's actions are unusual and egregious.

I suppose that is possible, that it was just that one game. I just don't think it's likely given his entire head coaching history.

He's frequently micromanaged (admittedly) and he's always had bad offenses.

After Kiffin left, he recounted that Saban actually sat in on Kiffin's film reviews of the offense scout team. Kiffin thought it would end after a few weeks, but Saban did it every week for as long as Kiff was at Bama;

Yeah, Saban (a D coach) micromanages his OCs

“ micro-managed Kiffin’s offense”

Nick is wildly successful. He can stick his nose into anything he wants and no one is going to say chit bout it. Coach O is going to catch flack.

The problem is not that coach O has say in the O. The problem is he was sold, silly is it was, having learned some lesson from his Old Miss time and would no longer interfere with his offensive coaches running of the offense. That sham didn’t didn’t last long.
