Good interview with Jim Engster. Talked about being abused by Larry Nasser.

I thought it was a fairly strange interview. He started it out by saying she gave up her childhood to pursue her goals. She didn’t seem to agree with that comment about giving up her childhood. Then later in the interview he asked her about gymnast performing in the nude. She didn’t seem to comfortable with that conversation. He was referencing some SI article from the 70’s, but she still seemed awkward with the topic. And I don’t blame her, it was an awkward topic.

I saw him get into fisticuffs with some dude downtown at Live After Five one year. Ol’ baw was putting a pretty good beatdown on Engster before BRPD stepped in and broke it up.

What an awful interview and voice and face only make it creepier.
When you got to LSU where did you stay? followed by, where do the gymnast stay now? That's a red flag.
You did not make the Olympics, how much of a disappointment was that?

I just thought it was also a bit bizarre, yet interesting in that there could be no canned responses to such deeply personal issues. I had never seen him before, I don't know a whole lot about Baton Rouge media or their history.
Some of Engster's backstory makes this seem consistent with a weird character.
He definitely made her feel uncomfortable as anything. Is this his schtick with every interviewee?
