He's shat on Les and Saban. It's his thing.

But any underachieving falls on one man's shoulders. Ed Orgeron.

Well why don't we just make E the highest-paid offensive assistant so we can get some production out of him finally, since that's how it works apparently?

I think the point is that it doesnt work. If you are the highest paid assistant in College Football, then you should be the best DC. Apparently it doesnt work.

I like Aranda, he is a young, fresh, smart guy. But he hasnt shown to be the best.....for the money. He is solid, but the article is right. And it has nothing to do with the offense.

Gold, I can always count on you to pipe in with something that isnt meaningful and has nothing to do with the conversation. Post better, please. I want to be part of this board, but its so hard when its turned into , for example, you just saying anything to discount what others are saying. Your comment is nonsense. Honestly, read it. You sound like my 10 year old whining.

Aranda can be replaced with another very good DC if he ever leaves.

Can? Yes. Does the current regime inspire you that he in fact would be?

We are not talking about Ed, We are analyzing Aranda. Its ok to hold him accountable. He gets paid alot....actually he gets paid the MOST. And he is underachieving. Not that he is doing a bad job, but he is underachieving. The article isnt exaggerating, just simple facts. Just some people have immortilized him and think he shouldnt be held accountable. I am included in that group. Until recently. I love the guy, but he needs to be the BEST when you get paid the MOST. Its simple!

The play in which the A&M game should’ve ended he blitzed white up the middle which led to the pick by Delpit.

I would have to agree with Guilbeau, what has Aranda done at Lsu that is really off the charts

The defense's performance does have something to do with the offense. It's hard to take you seriously when you keep saying it doesn't.

I don't know what people expect out of Aranda. He was good when we got him, and his performance has been steady ever since. He got more money because we were scared to lose him to A&M. He didn't come asking for it, they dropped it in his lap.

Your disappointment is misplaced. He didn't do anything wrong.

You're right it's simple, simple minded to come to this conclusion. I've explained the reasons he got his money, and it was because the HC was scared. If The HC thought they he could replace him, he would've done so.

It's been consistent since 2016

At least 4 teams ranked in the top ten defenses last year had worse offensive output than LSU. So no, its not just about the offense

Aranda's doing the best job he can do. Does anyone doubt that? He's been doing the best since he got here.

So why are people today say that he's underperforming? He was good before but because they dumped money in his lap it's not good enough anymore? How can he do better than his best?

Relative to his pay among peers

But that's really not asimprtant as some think. He's still a hot commodity. But the numbers do need to come up.

I agree with you on offensive evolution, but other defenses are doing better than ours. Point of the article is he is highest paid, he should be the best.

You guys argue about O and E not being the best but Aranda is not held accountable.....FOR THE MONEY. He is doing a great job, but we dont pay him to be great. We pay him to be the best...by far.

Yeah this is what people are starting to look at. Hell look at Manny Diaz. Steele had a better scoring D at Auburn

I think Aranda puts it together this year. Might have counted on Chaisson too much last season. I believe in him

Spoken like a typical mouth breather. Compensation and negotiations around compensation involve much more than simple defensive numbers when compared to peers.

Once we get an offense that can lighten the defense's load I'm sure the numbers will come up.

Look at them. They aren't playing Alabama, Auburn, or A&M.

Auburn and A&M had decent offenses, not great. Auburn was worse than LSU.

Gold... smh... again you go off on tangents. I didnt say the defenses performance is not related to offensive performance. I said the subject matter of this article and thread is only about defense. Analyzing the defense..thats all. And my dissappointment is with you. Mostly.

Doesnt matter, he is being paid that money. He needs to be the best. Especially since all the haters keep holding O and E to that standard. Hold the highest paid assistant in College Football to that standard too. When it comes to Aranda, all of sudden, not being the best is ok. Isnt that convenient.

Gold, I'm glad you have an opinion, its important that we exercise that in the greatest nation in the world. And we dont have to agree, but please stick to the subject...and be honest with yourself. Jeez.
