Right now Pitchers look like Hurd, Herring, Coleman, Chas Shores? Edwards. Plus new transfer Justin Loer, Kade Woods.

Guidry may be more valuable in the infield.

I think its pretty simple. If we wins the job, he doesnt see the mound. We saw how JJ stuck with Thompson at short even with his struggles at the plate. Granted he was a multi-year starter and leader. So theres no way Jay pulls Guidry off short just for him to pitch.

If he doesnt win the job then they may put him back in the reliver role.

I'm expecting and hoping for another big splash in the portal at pitcher. Chase Burns is the guy out there now, but I wonder if another big name will make it into the portal and into LSU.
Hurd is a Friday/Saturday starter. Anticipate Herring will fill the Cooper-role as a swing guy and high pressure lefty. That still leaves a big hole as the other Friday/Saturday starter and I'm talking Super Regional/CWS level starter, not SEC weekend guy. There is no other even Floyd level guy unless Noot or Shores makes a miraculous recovery.

A healthy Taylor would be a game changer. Moreso than Noot or Shores being 100%. But short of that, there isn't a guy on the staff I'd want pitching an elimination game in a Super Regional or CWS other than Hurd next year. And, you need at least 2 of them.
