Just how important was it when Burrow, the hardscrabble grinder from Athens County, Ohio, found his way to the South and caught on with a program desperate for real, genuine attitude?

quote:

"He saved our arse," says LSU head coach Ed Orgeron.

"I didn't save them," he says, his eyes beginning to well. "They saved me."

That's my QB

I made a comment about Burrow on Twitter. Some Ohio State fans blasted me about how their "backup QB" was saving LSU now. I responded that this comment was coming from fans of a team that was now starting Georgia's former backup QB.

I get where you're coming from, but you should read it. It's a good read about our guy.

Thanks for posting, that was a good quick read. I was a little apprehensive when I saw "Bleacher Report", but the article was great.

Orgeron stated the obvious, where would LSU’s offense be without Burrow?

Even early last year when he wasn’t lighting it up, I could tell Burrow had that kind of leadership ability. We saw it on display against Auburn. We definitely saw it down the stretch last year. He was a fricking beast in that A&M game. You saw how he and the offense responded to that cheap shot from UCF. Burrow has earned the respect he’s getting, from his team and the media.
