I understand we got off track some. I was responding to the other poster's specific comment. In regards to Byrd, why does every player have to respond positively to an a**hole type coach? Not saying coaches can't or shouldn't be that way at times. But coaches are different and players are different. I would think the adult making hundreds of thousands of dollars would be able to be the more flexible of the two. Of course, we know he can be. Some kids get a big leash... and some don't under PM. Like I said. If we wants to be that way, fine. As long as he's getting the most out of his team. But he is not.

Beau didn't play his senior season.

Also incorrect. There have been 11 players who signed with LSU out of HS over the last 4 years and who played through their senior year.
So, is it 7 or 11?

An 18-20 year old is chronologically a man but maturity comes on an individual basis. Young men are not used to many situations they find themselves having to deal with nor emotions that are complicated and present challenges which they have never dealt with before. Yes an 18 year old is a man under the law but he has to mature into being a real man and it happens at a different pace for every individual.
Yes I agree with that, but what is your point?
In this case, kid, young man, adult, etc... the guy couldn't hack it here. What CPM stated was 100% truth. I in no way saw that statement as throwing the guy under the bus.

"Truth" and "under the bus" can be synonymous. I don't always disagree with what PM says... But I don't think a lot of it needs to go out to the media. For example... What's the purpose of telling the fans about Byrd's timeline in going to see a doc? He wasn't asked about it. What does that have to do with Bryd deciding to leave? All it does is allow PM to insinuate that Byrd broke some unwritten rule. Okay? The player is gone... Why throw this out there other than to put him in a bad light?

Kevin berry transferred in from uno, he didn't sign with lsu out of high school.
I used the annual rosters from LSUSports.net as my source.
For Kevin Berry it shows:
quote:I misunderstood the "New Orleans" to mean his high school was in New Orleans, not that he transferred from the University of New Orleans. I apologize if that upset you.
33 Kevin Berry RHP R/R 6-0 192 Sr. 3L Metairie, La. (Brother Martin HS/New Orleans)
For ell ("Beau didn't play his senior season."), for Beau Didier's senior season in 2012 the LSU roster says:
quote:LSUSports.net says regarding Senior Day for the last home series of the 2012 season:
27 Beau Didier INF L/R 6-2 200 Sr. 2L Federal Way, Wash. (Bellarmine Prep HS)
"LSU's five senior players - catcher Jordy Snikeris, infielder Beau Didier, third baseman Tyler Hanover, infielder Grant Dozar and shortstop Austin Nola - will be honored prior to Saturday's 7 p.m. first pitch." LINK
The 2012 season statistics show Didier played in 16 games and started 5 of them.
I'm not sure why you say he didn't play his senior year.
For Asllan who wrote:
quote:I guess you should have been more specific since it's still unclear what you're trying to communicate. I did not count in my numbers the class who has "not shown up yet." I counted the "last four classes" as the players who were on the roster for the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons.
I did not count the 2015 class. They have not shown up yet. I said the "last four classes", but I guess I should have been more specific.

you have put many years and blogs into it.
quote:I did. I learned you don't communicate your thoughts very well.
Maybe you just learned something.
Frankly, now that I've re-read your posts in the last five or six pages of this thread, I still don't know what point you're trying to make by you regurgitating the unintelligible recruiting numbers in your posts.....

He didn't use all of his years of eligibility

A year or two ago, PM said of Cody Glenn "I have no confidence in the kid." That may be true but that was, imo, a tad bit harsh.
That's the point when Glenn should have stepped up his game to prove him wrong. Some kids react well to it, others don't.

I really don't understand why some of you don't get that we're not pissed because PM says these thing, we're pissed because he says them in public for the sole purpose of humiliating his players. If he thinks it's a motivational tool then he had zero business being a coach.

I know it is irritating that I don't just tell you what happened. I ask questions to make some of you think. And, I hate to share my pearls. When I do, some of you don't appreciate it. My Mama always told me, "You can't teach stupid."
Was Beau allowed to finish out his eligibility? Or, did he quit?

There was a short time when I actually thought you might be PM. You towed the line. And then, I thought you might grill weenies with him on Friday nights and be someone he shares his innermost secrets with. But, you don't seem to know anything. You actually admit that you look up your information on LSUSPorts.net. Wow.
I hope you actually get to be invited to a weenie roast one of these days. Then you can give us something interesting.

For one thing I know the correct expression is "toed the line."

Asllan you are one of the most bitter people I've ever seen roam the baseball threads and that speaks volumes.

You are probably a good guy. It is just hard for you to come across as such. You have taught me two things today.
I now know that you do not blog.
And, towed is not toed.

Is that because I know you are not a scout?
