To me, what makes a person good isn't defined even in part, by their language but instead, their actions. Actions speak louder than words.

Yes, yes they do.

And doing something in a public venue that a significant portion of the people in that venue find inappropriate, is an action that speaks very loudly about the type of person we are dealing with. Even more so when those actors are notified that a significant number of people don’t like the action, and they then don’t feel any contrition, don’t reflect at all on maybe some people are bothered by it, just basically tell those people to get screwed. ‘ I like to be as vulgar as possible, and I don’t care how you feel about it. I don’t give one damn about how the university I am a fan of feels about it’s appearance on national TV. Nope, I just like to be vulgar so much that I’m
gonna do it no matter what. ‘

Yep. THAT is a good person right there.

And BTW, I personally have been known to use profanity or more than just an occasional basis but am always conscious of what environment I’m in. So I’m not against cursing in general. And if you saw me at a game while the chant was being done I’d probably be smiling. It is funny, especially when timed right. I still wish like hell it would go away.
And I wish the chant fans would at least be honest enough to say that they enjoy making the school and the fans look trashy instead of making it out to be some moral high ground.
At the very least it’s incomsiderate. WAY more fans would like Neck played during games like it was before STTDB than care about yelling the actual profanity. You guys like the profanity so much that you are willing to sacrifice the song. It makes no sense.

Why not be a good parent, explain to your kids that at a football game they will hear things they should never repeat?

Listen bud I have Facebook and Instagram pictures to post with my little ones at the game and I'll be damned if they hear a single expletive since I'm incapable of explaining what's wrong and what's right to them

Ztro4 is spot on...Your kids have heard this language before. Just educate them. My daughter always told me when she was in those years of her life, "If you told me I couldn't do something, I wanted to do it more." The more we talk about not wanting them to do it, the more vulgar it will get. If we make it look like it is no big deal, they may not stop but it will not get any louder. If we keep winning, the behavior should be more civil...

This is it in a nutshell. And to be honest, I can live with the vulgar chants. It doesn’t really bother me. I just think it is stupid and classless. I have a much bigger problem with all the people on here trying to justify it and trying to make everyone see it as “normal“ and “acceptable“

It kind of cracks me up that they think they are on the moral high ground. I’m sorry - just say that you like being trashy in public events and you don’t care one bit who might be offended by it. But don’t tell me that I’m the one off base.

+1

All that really matters is that the University will get tired if the media talking about it and attempt to stop it in some way.

Yes, it is a college football game. You guys act like it’s a porn screening – that everyone should absolutely expect that thousands of people screaming at the top of their lungs about sucking a dick is totally to be expected. How the hell did I watch football all these years and miss that integral part of it?

Yeah, because your precious kids' ears aren't going to hear anything worse than that at these games. Shut up.
