There was no forcible contact tho. Fitz was leaning back when hit and Devin pulled up. He led with hands and pulled up. contact with facemask wasn't FORCIBLE.
The biggest issue with most LSU fans about this is that AU got away with one against Ole Miss and Bama got away with one against Tenn. Both of those hits met the definition as well or better than Devin's hit but those guys weren't punished.
The problem is the rule. I like McElroy's take on having a 2 party rule similar to facemask or roughing the kicker. Lesser penalty for lesser crime.
But the issue is how diff refs call it differently. This is too big a punishment for it not to be covered fairly.
Bama fans act like this is some attack on them. SEC isn't in Bama's pocket, but there is some inconsistency with penalties among refs. The billboards are about the SEC not Bama btw.
