If you wanna change the world, start off by making your bed.

If you don't make your bed in the forest does anyone hear that?

My wife makes the bed. I haven't made a bed since we were married.
She actually makes fun of me for helping her around the house with what she considers to be "woman's work."
One of the things I love about her culture is that gender roles have not been made taboo yet in her native country by the PC police.
I have no problem cleaning the house, washing dishes, doing laundry, etc. I was single into my mid-30's so I am proficient at keeping a home tidy and have no problem doing that stuff. She just prefers I don't deprive her of the joy of doing those things, so I offer to help and only do so if she wants me to.

My wife does all of that, and she's American. I make the living, she does the housework. Like you, I'm happy to help out, but usually she'd rather I keep out of it. Except for cleaning the stove; she hates cleaning the stove.
BTW, I'm currently reading Ghost Soldiers, which is set in your neck of the woods.

Oh yeah. Great speech. The entire speech is really good, the longer version of it.

I tried that once, sir. It didn't work so I said, "frick it" and went out and lived my life.
