Going to LSU Game - Parking Suggestions

Havent been to Tiger Stadium in many years and not familiar at all with parking and traffic.
Where are some good places to park?
1. Dont care about distance. I dont mind walking. Id like to keep max walking time under 20 minutes though if possible.
2. Want to avoid traffic at all costs. I dont want to spend one second fighting for a spot and I want to be able to pull right in and pull right out.
3. Dont care about "crime". Will park in hood if it meets the other criteria.
4. Will not pay to park. Its against my religion.
In NOLA I usually park far away and on the street in a neighborhood so I dont have to look for a spot or deal with traffic getting in or out. Then I just hoof it. I guess Im looking for a similar place around Tiger Stadium.
For perspective, when I go to the Dome I usually park around Galvez and Poydras. When I go to the FQ(Jackson Square) I usually park in the Marigny past Elysian Fields and as far as Franklin Ave. When I go to Jazz Fest I usually park past Ursuline.

You'll be lucky to get a spot at parker at 10, for a 230 game.

On the street? In the parking lot? I dont want to get towed.

yeah im factoring in the rise of tickets being sold at 50-75% off that a lot of people wont be going. 10am is going to be pushing it. I bet You could still hop one of those mini medians within the lot at around 1030-11 though and park on top of those.

Yikes.

We plan on getting there early to check out tailgating, pre-load since Im DD back to NOLA and watch all the pregame festivities but...10am?! Really?!

What about Milford Ave. between Gourrier and Burbank?

I see it but I only see a parking lot. No on-street parking. Youre the second person to mention a parking lot. Can people going to the games park in these parking lots around campus? In NOLA theyll tow you while your in your car.

I've parked in that lot more than once. It's never been marked as a no parking area. I figured if they towed me they'd have to tow the other 100 cars parked there too. Usually areas are marked and roped off if you're not allowed to park there.
It's exactly 1 mile from the Chapel to the stadium.

quote:Get there early enough, because the street can probably fit about 10 cars. Leaving may be a pain because you either have to get on burbank or go to Parker and fight that uphill battle.

Just take River Rd south to Gourrier and park in either Levee south or the Golf course lot. I've done this from that way and Nicholson - it's a little quicker to go down River rd. I've never not found plenty of room.

Good info.

So do you think the lot will be full? What about being towed?

What about the flower streets? Geranium, Azalea, Aster, Violet? Theyre really close and there is on-street parking. Its a neighborhood so I wouldnt have to worry about traffic or towing. Do these streets get filled up?
Posted on 10/13/17 at 3:13 pm to nola000
Lot. There is no street parking on campus.

It's all designated free parking, so you won't get towed.
What I was trying to say is that there has always been plenty of room there. When you leave, get back on River road and turn right through downtown. You'll be on the interstate in 10 minutes.

Best bet is parking in your drive way and watching from your sofa if you don't want to fight a second of traffic.

I just go by the tennis courts and pay someone to park in their yard.
