Ah, I don't know. LSU is such a small market as compared to USC, Notre Dame or Ohio State. We don't pull near the numbers in those polls that the above mentioned schools do simply based on the fact that we don't have the numbers of fans.
But hey, we're featured in the latest Wal-Mart commercials. Tiger Nation, baby.

upsets happen jackass, that's college football, but put USC in either SEC div, and they would be at the top fighting it out with LSU in the west, and Fla. in the east. and I really don't see where the superiority of the SEC to the Pac 10 is IYO, of course theirs a few bad apples in the conf.(Wash, Wash St., Stan) but their improving.
SEC has their bad apples also(Miss.,MSU, Vandy) but their improving also, if SEC was so superior like you claim, why didn't Tenn. beat UCLA?

as I said before....
if USC is such a hot team, why do they not have the balls to demand a "Conference Championship Game" ...start there...and proof your worth.
quit getting into bowl games by default
USC plays about 3-4 hard games per year and coast while others have to play a "conference" contender
in the conference final before getting to a bowl game.

A conference title game with 10 teams makes no sense especially when the Pac-10 already plays a full round robin. There would only be a conference title game if the pac-10 expands and I doubt that will happen anytime soon

Tubucoco - you're not going to win any arguments with these jokers. Just look at this statement..
i don't even know where to start.

why would you have CCG game when you play evey team in the conference?

It makes sense:
a)you'd know who the best team is for sure at season's end...it does not have to be a FULL tournament
b)you would play the same number of games as others.
c)you would risk one more game and the possible wear and tear of players as others do....a big part of the SEC play is injuries and playing with them. USC can rest their personnel in-between most games...SEC teams can not.

a)you'd play the same # of games as others.
b)games at season's end, when competition has gotten better, would tell more about a conference champion...teams do improve.
c)in SEC, we sometimes have to play the same team twice to win the conference

rbdallas- Let's be honest. The reason why Conf Championships came about was to create more revenue, which is not a bad reason at all. But the SEC and Big12 presidents did not sit around and say, "man we're all so awesome, let's have a championship game!" This extra revenue goes back to the schools are is a reason why the SEC has indeed become a top conference.
But if SC we're to say "Hey, we demand a Conf Championship!" The Pac X would say "um, no." Then what? Should we leave the conference?
Also, teams do not necessarily get better as the season goes along. Generally yes, but look at South Carolina and Cal last year.

werent we supposed to play colorado this year.
No, LSU was supposed to play @ AZ St. The '05 game was supposed to be @ B.R.
AZ St. backed out of this yr's game & asked to postpone it until next decade.

Maybe this guy doesn't know we are going to Washington next year?
Don't say Arizona St. cause that one was actually scheduled to play at TS and moved.
quote:Yes and no. They want to but it hasn't been tried on many occasions cause we (LSU) don't want to make the return trip and lose home game revenues.
Does anyone want to even do a home and home with us? Has this not been tried on numerous occasions?
If anyone really believes no one wants to schedule a home and home with us they're out of touch. All you have to do is look at the schedules of Georgia, Tennessee, OSU and USC, among others.

You clueless dorks mouth off about our schedule. Last year we played 6 ranked teams. This year, it looks like at least 4.

USC would fare very well in the SEC.
Sure they would be successful, but they wouldn't have come close to winning the last 6 conference championships.

This was the point i was trying to make. USC wouldnt be as dominant in the SEC as they are in the Pac-10. Sure they would win a bunch of games and would easily compete for top of the conference, but they wouldnt put on a 6-conf. in a row run ever. Lets say they played in the East. Then they would have to play Tenn. Georgia, Florida, and then finish they year with either Auburn or LSU. Im sure they would love that schedule every year.

Because the NCAA does not allow it. Besides, it would not make sense, as every team plays each other.
Next?

didn't i just explain this yesterday???
LSU PLAYS AS MANY OR MORE TOP RANKED OPPONENTS AS USC, OHIO STATE OR OKLAHOMA. THE FACT IS THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO SCHEDULE AN OUT OF CONFERENCE TEAM IN ORDER TO HAVE TWO GAMES AGAINST TOP TEN OPPONENTS EVERY YEAR.
this only talks about our regular season schedule, and doesn't include the fact that in order to play in the NC game, we'd likely have to play another top ten opponent in the SEC Championship game.
what is most important is the OVERALL SCHEDULE that each team plays.
LSU's schedule is more difficult this season than last.
fans of USC and OSU who bash LSU's schedule are just using flawed logic to make their team's schedules look better.
Couldnt of said it any better. We DO NOT have to play a tough non conference schedule. The SEC schedule is brutal enough.
