WTF is wrong? When a new NFL team came calling on Nick Saban every year, everyone got mad that he talked to them. Les Miles supposedly talked to Arky and all of a sudden everyone wants to give him a big raise. Hell, he doesn't have to coach and he walks away with close to 20 million.
And don't hand me this 10 win season crap. When you play four rent a wins and struggle to win them, that really merits a raise. As a fan, Les miles is just like most coaches, he don't give shite about you. If he did, he coulda said "frick You R-Kansas, I make enough just where I am."

Bottom line is he deserves 4.5 a year because he is a top tier coach.

I don't know the numbers, but maybe he does. What i don't like is the $20,000,000 fricking buyout. He can walkout on us anytime, but we have to pay to fire him.

Wasn't there a rumor that Texas A&M was coming after Mac which triggered an in crease in his salary.
In those days the LSU establishment was comfortable finishing second.

The two are not connected. I'll hate Bama no matter who our coach is or their coach. I'll be here after Miles and Saban are both long gone.

McClendon beat Bama twice in 18 years, Miles has beaten Bama 5 times in 8 years and is 3-4 against Saban, which is only 3-4 because of an unprecedented rematch. The raises and buyouts are the market price. If we were not giving it to Miles, we'd have to give it to his replacement or we would not get a coach worth a crap. If you think winning 10 games is not good enough, you wouldn't even get that.
