I think this will be more of a 31-14 type game. Not a blowout of the Arkansas variety, but still decided somewhat early

Listen; I agree with you that LSU is the best team by a large marin, and I know UGA lost those two games, Boise very badly. But the post was about defense, and all everyone says is UGA's defense is weak cause their stats are against all lousy teams. That is just not the case....all I'm saying.

Well, it is a valid point. They haven't been tested since September by a decent offense. So, everything we see right now is either one of two thing: 1. the Dawgs have improved 2. they play horrible offenses.

Based upon what we have seen lately from the UGA opponents is that, they all can't score on ANYBODY (exception GA Tech, but there offense really is an anomally in cfb). So, what do you expect us to say? Number 2 seems as though it is correct unless it is proven differently.

And, once again, NOBODY IS SAYING WE'RE AS GOOD AS LSU. Let that sink in reeaaaal good.

We're saying our defense is very, very good and just a notch below yours. Nobody on this board is trying to say we're as good as LSU.

Review who I responded to and the exact quote I responded to in the context in which it was said....and let that sink in reeaaaal good.

I did. The poster you quoted said LSU is better than us, we have a very good D but still not quite as good as LSU's.

Then you went on to simply compare schedules and how yall are undefeated while we've lost 2, which doesn't respond to the poster really at all.

I think the fact that Ga Tech sucks had a lot to do with it.

"That "But you haven't played anybody" line is as tired as Jeff Foxworthy's redneck crap....as I posted on another thread, LSU has played many of many of the same teams that UGA has, and has played 6 Top 25 teams (using LSU logic) while LSU has played 7 top 25 teams. I also feel that LSU is a better team, but please...enough with that whole line of thinking. UGA's D is very very good. Not as good as LSU's, but very good indeed."

He was saying that the "logic" of comparing schedules doesn't compute because UGA played 6 top 25 teams and LSU played 7. I corrected him. Completely different schedules when you look at the quality. That actually is responding when you take a specific part of the data that he is respresenting to support his argument and making that data meaningless. His facts are dumb and the argument that UGA's D is even in the same stratosphere as LSU's based upon the body of work is an emotional response based upon someone being a "fan". He says the words, "I feel". WTF.

Fans use this. I think or feel this. I have a ton of Arkansas friends and all of them said the same thing, "I feel like or I believe or I have a feeling about this game." Screw feelings. Here are the facts: UGA hasn't played ANYONE since September. Crazy thing is, that SC team only scored minimal points on AUBURN at home. Their offense isn't even that great. Then, the other offense you played is a Mountain West team. Fact is that outside of Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, and possibly UGA/SC the SEC downright SUCKS this year.

They're talking up our defense because it's good and has shown as such all year.
UGA has played four teams in the top 75 in offense.

Boise State - 11th - 390 yds against UGA
South Carolina - 75th - 395 yds against UGA
New Mexico Stat - 48th - 402 yds against UGA
Georgia Tech - 19th - 355 yds against UGA

geezus christ will the broken record ever end? how many teams have literally said the EXACT same quote?

FTR, we didn't start blowing out Arkansas until the 4th quarter, but the second we were ahead, everyone in the stadium knew the game was over.

....and have you looked at the offensive rankings

Arkansas 28th
Oregon 6th
West Virginia 16th
Alabama 31st

Not even the same stratosphere. All 4 of these, UGA did not play. Boise State is 11th, but can we really compare a Mountain West team?????

Well, I'll just say what I KNOW. I KNOW (and Feel) that UGA's D is very good. I also KNOW (and FEEL) that you have not actually watched much UGA football outside of the Boise or SC games.

And speaking of stats...and WTF? How bout this....West Virginia - 533 Yards. WTF

Geez. you guys are sensitive.

I think I could tell you that LSU was the best team of all time, and that UGA was an okay team, and you'd just reply that UGA is total crap and starting giving me 4th quarter yards against Coastal Carolina to back it up.

Haven't watched much? I live in the middle of Dawg country, therefore, in order for me to effectively fend off the mass of dawg fans I need to watch the Dawgs play way too much. It sucks. Listen to it on sports talk, watch the bs on saturdays. So, yes, I have watched the Dawgs all year. Sensitive???? Nope, it is a message board were you can discuss these things. It is called a debate. Really, the Dawgs haven't impressed me at all, but, they have impressed UGA fans with their performance against abysmal competition. The problem is that most people around here still see the SEC as the typical SEC. It just isn't this year.

Shows how much you "know, and feel".

Yes, the WVU game was interesting from a stat perspective. But, that happens when you have to throw the ball that much to even try and keep pace. It was a weird gameplan by LSU for sure.

LSU is a complete team with depth at every position. It doesn't matter how strong you are at this and how strong you are at that. Whatever your weaknesses are LSU will exploit them. And you obviously have weaknesses or you wouldn't be ranked 12th - behind Arkansas who last week said...blah, blah, blah

Here's to a good injury-free game on Saturday. Got nothing bad to say about LSU or their coach and fans....unlike Bama fans. Hope LSU smokes them if they unjustly get a rematch against LSU.
