I know someone out there has the sound bite as he said it in a recorded interview. If Alabama starts "stumping" for a rematch,I hope someone dusts it off and plays it 10,000 times. Once again, Alabama and it's coach will prove whether he is a man of his word (not likely imo) or just a whiny little bitch hoping to get his way. You can't have it both ways, Nick.

Deserves to be repeated!

I agree Boise should get their shot. They have frankly earned it over the last few years. The PAC 12 and Big 12/10 are too chicken shite to allow them in their leagues, If they go undefeated and Stanford and OSU lose, the voters need to do the right thing and allow them to play LSU.

link? I don't recall that doesn't sound like Saban at all frankly.

I'm pretty sure he's full of shite. Both Saban and Stoops went out of their way not to be douches like Pete Carroll, who was shamelessly lobbying for the title (e.g. walking off the field of the Rose Bowl saying "I think we just won a national championship!").

I would be shocked if Saban had said any such thing.

different BCS formula back then. Computers and otehr factors (SOS, Big Wins) counted more. With the 2011 formula it would have been USC-LSU in 2003.

Alabama couldn't get it done at home as the favorite. Why should they get another shot in a virtual home setting for LSU?

Alabama had its chance...let someone else take a shot.

Said it before in the thread a few weeks ago, I hate rematches especially for a MNC. The original winner has everything to lose and the original loser is being tossed a bone. Emotionally it is very difficult for the original victor to maintain the original level of intensity from game 1 to game 2, it is human nature to subliminally let down, and Bama would be even more jacked for payback.

I totally agree with this.

I've always hated this mindset. As a fan of a top team, you should expect them to win it all. If you're a player, that's one thing, but as a fanbase, you need to believe or get the frick out.

that doesn't constitute proof.. Give us a link of SABAN actually saying that, either directly or quoted in a legitimate source. Buddy Soungy heresay is not a legit source.

Re: FSU-Fla 1996(24-21 Noles at home, 52-20 Gators in Superdome), KSU-Okla 2000(OU by 10 in Manhattan, by 3 in B12CG), Neb-Wash 2010(Huskies were blasted 56-21 at home, win 19-7 in Holiday Bowl), 2001 Texas-Colo(41-7 Horns in Austin, 39-37 Buffs in B12CG), etc..

It's hard enough on pros that are much more mature and savvy than collegians, to beat teams twice in a year or quick turnaround. With a roster full of 18 to 22 year olds, the stats don't lie, it's hell on HCs to try get them in the frame of mind to beat the red@ssed avengers, whom own that huge mental edge.

The loser of first games always seem to do a much much better job of fixing faults, adjustments, and/or being motivated to make amends from the first result(IE Intensity Edge).

I don't give a shite. I simply think he is mistaken. He has "quoted" someone and provided no proof whatsoever.

what does that mean? Who's a sabanista? pissed about what?

Have you ever seen or heard Nick Saban talk about his opponents? From what I've seen I can't see him saying a team he was playing for the BCS Championship didn't deserve to be there, even if they were 0-12.Just like pretty much every other coach I can think of.

Exactly. My dominant memory of that whole drama was how restrained Saban was in his remarks vs Carroll. He went out of his way to say nothing controversial about the system or about the other teams.

I seem to remember Stoops saying something about there was no requirement to win your conference, but Saban just sticking with coach speak.

He would certainly have had an incentive to say so. Saban would have had no incentive whatsoever. And that's on top of the fact that his entire MO is only to talk about "what we can control".
