My guess is Miles was holding onto faith in Crowton because he desperately wanted to believe it would better with a second year starter at QB.

That simply hasn't been the case. I feel like we are worse than last year, actually.

How many of those previous times did Crowton start with an experienced QB in his first year, then end up with very poor QBs in his 2nd-4th years?

See my first point. Developing QBs is Crowton's job. Thanks for making my point. Crowton does fine with somebody else's QB, but he can't teach them himself.

Why do you people think Jimbo left for a lateral move? It wasn't for a "HC in waiting" job it was to get away from Miles.

Miles is not calling plays. He doesn't have a card in his hands and isn't talking enough into the headset. Sorry. He's just not.

You're missing the point. No one thinks Miles is calling plays like Sean Payton does. What is being said is that Miles develops and approves the game plan with Crowton, and that Crowton is being told which group of plays to select from based on that game plan, instead of Les just telling Crowton to do it alone.

Miles isn't calling the plays per say but he is controlling the play "LIST." He is basically telling Gary what he can and cannot call. Miles does wear a damn headset, and he does have a very high influence on what can or will be call in any situation. We don't have a QB to run an imaginative system, but this current system is Les Miles.

These are 2 separate issues. I'm not arguing that he does a bad job of developing QBs. I'm just pointing out that our offense not looking like it did in 2007 is because these QBs can't run it. Why that's the case is a different discussion.

No, it isn't. Our current offense does not at all resemble Miles' offensive style at Okie State, when he basically ran it and set up the play action pass.

We run, and then get cute. That is Crowton.

No, not really. It is the same issue. We don't have a QB who can run our system because Crowton has failed to teach them properly.

See Dennis Dixon if you want a non-LSU example. That dude exploded once he got some proper coaching at Oregon.

OK. So Miles is developing the Game Plan? Miles is demanding the Option? Miles is wanting to run the spread over the 'I'??? Maybe so, it just sounds contrary to how I read him.

I would just like to know which one of them decided it would be a good time to test JJ's down field passing in the 4th quarter to go ahead and kill the drive...Everyone remembers?

Ridley tore arse up the middle a for first down.
New set of downs: 1st down: Pass-Worm Burner; 2nd Down: Pass- Worm Burner; 3rd Down: Blitzed thrown away. 4th Down: Punt. All of this while a one possession game.

No, it doesn't. You are trying to create two issues from a single issue. I simply disagree with you.

This has been my point all along. With Crowton Dixon was a tremendous athlete who showed flashes but couldn't escape Brady Leaf on the depth chart. With Chip Kelly, he turned in one of the best college seasons in CFB history and was a shoo-in for the Heisman. Coincidence?

This is EXACTLY what Crowton's offenses looked like at BYU and Oregon and the polar opposite of what our offense looked like in 2005 and 2006.

If Miles is truly running the offense, then this is the biggest coincidence in the history of football.

That's a dumb post..even for you

Is he NOT the headcoach at FSU now? What job could he have gotten better in this time period?

That is bullshite, he sucked at his last job. All coordiantors say that when they know what is coming. He is trying to salvage the opportunity for another job which he will never get. This is on GC's shoulders, my only problem is that Miles allowed him to do it again after last year. makes me wonder how competent Miles is that he can't see that this guy sucks as an OC.

+1
Miles screwed up with the co-coordinators on defense but rectified that situation after one year. He has continued the train wreck known as Gary Crowton and the offense is worse this year than last. We are just starting with the meat of the schedule and remember how inept the offense was against Florida last year? Well, that'll be worse. We can't pass the ball on teams like Vandy for over 100 yards how in the hell do you think they'll do against Florida, Auburn, Bama and Arkansas?
