GC works at the pleasure of Miles and therefore the only person capable of costing Miles his gig, is Miles.

It is his job to set himself up with a staff he likes.
Les Miles would rather be stubborn and "show these ungrateful fans" who's boss, than win football games.

History repeats itself as that was the downfall of DiNardo!!! I guess we will play Arkansas with an Interim Coach and kick the crap out of them!!

History will not repeat itself because unlike DiNardo, Miles has brought in Gonzales and Wilkerson to shore up the weak coaching links.

at least the short side option didn't occur yesterday

WOW! So what did we run to fill in 3/4 of the play calling?

And if Les does get canned it will be GC's fault.

If this team can find an average SEC offense this year then we will compete. I just don't think it will happen.

if we had a run game like in 08 we would be average, 07 we were elite. i dont think we are far from average. now our qb play is prob far from average.

i wouldn't go that far. crowton is no wizard though, like people on here thought he was when he was hired. i guess they thought he was great because he was hired to coach at lsu.

Miles contract runs through 2012. That means he'll be owed $7.5 the next year. If he's fired without cause, LSU can pay that over 4 years.

The bigger problem will be the stupidity of Chavis' new contract. If there was legitimately issues with buying out Crowton's contract (sounds like utter BS), Chavis' will have problems being paid and you'll have to hope the new HC hired if Miles is fired wants him, or else we are in a deeper hole.

The fact is that if this team wins less than 9 games this year in the regular season, Miles should be gone. PERIOD! LSU TAF has plenty of money to do this, and are the idiots that worked with Bertman to give Miles and Chavis their stupid contracts.

And for those claiming Miles fixed problems by hiring Gonzales and Wilson, are you stupid? Neither our RBs or WRs were the problems. Our playcalling, OL and QB play were. PERIOD! Yet the two genuises in charge of those positions and duties were retained.

I think Miles brought in Gonzales and Ben Wilkerson to help bolster the two weak link coaches. The O-line has shown improvement since Wilkerson has taken over the individual drills of the O-linemen. However, JJ's mental aspect of the game hasn't shown improvement this spring, in spite of Gonzales. Hope he improves between now and fall practice or JL will get another chance to redeem himself.

Still making lots of chili at home and eating all of it. At practice he is watching Wilkerson and for the first time seeing what a real coach is supposed to do and look like doing it.

Agree or Disagree? and why?
Disagree. Miles will cost Miles his own job. He has bumbled through another Spring Training. Our QB situation is no where near being fixed. That goes beyond Crowton to Miles himself. The HC should be making the hard decisions that aren't being made.

Les will cost himself his job. Primarily because of stubbornness. Example: Toward the end of the game Saturday, he called for first OL and said something like I want our BEST QB for the exercise on the field, referring to JJ. He was also stubborn with the running game last year, forcing CS and KW to repeatedly hit holes that were not there.

Miles should have been fired at the end of last season. This season only prolongs it and there's NOTHING he can do to stop the bleeding. When K. S. is your best linebacker - you're a goner!!!!! When your offense walks up to the line and "CHECK WITH ME'' trying to copy Florida's offense and it backfires every time - you need to be a goner!!!! When your best quarterback throws more interceptions for the other team than TDs for your own - you're a goner!!!!! I flew from Iraq to Baton Rouge for the Florida game and caught every other game on AFN. The Florida game was pathetic!!!! Was Miles awake???? Terrance Tolliver never developed into his potential. Chad Jones saved the Mississippi State game on the goalline and the special teams' return for the TD. The refs bailed us out against Georgia (I didn't see nor hear unsportsmanlike conduct in the end zone). If Miles loses to Vandy and Mississippi State, along with a West Virginia or Tennessee loss, his office should be cleared out for McNeese State on Oct. 16, after the Florida FRESHMEN clobber us in Gainesville to make us 3-4 for the season.
