I wish him well. Wouldn't have won it in 2007 without him.

Interestingly enough, it is the latter that had the better offense during their respective NC years.

I caught flak a few weeks ago for saying that, but its true. Jimbo's offenses were ok but went into hiding against any defense with a pulse.

No reason not to wish him well.

100% chance he ends up with more wives than championships.

It's not like Crowton has a history of sputtering offenses wherever he goes, or fanbase that are happier to see him leave rather than sadder to see him stick around.

"History" can be interpreted in many ways. I'm not familiar enough with his other gigs but the whole RP thing threw a monkey wrench into our O for a few years.
Crowton's MO has always been wide-open O. We saw that in '07 and '08. After that, he may have been the OC but I think Les (rightly so) installed restrictor plates to avoid repeating the '08 TO fest.
Whatever he did worked well in '07 (best O in LSU history). FTR, in the JL-JJ years, we scored 21, 15, and 24 vs Bama. Even with Zach playing some of his best ball, we didn't score over 17.

Thoughts
Brings back some bad memories and also makes me a little nervous about CCC. If you recall, GC had great success his first year and set records with a 5th year senior QB. Everyone was very happy with our new OC and expectations were very high. Sound familiar??? It's much easier with a 5th year senior QB. We shall see how good Cam really is this year with a young QB.
And if you think it took Les too long to get rid of GC what do you think will happen if CC happens to flop like GC did?(I don't think this will happen FTR) Les will not get rid of his best friend so easily. I know I'm just being paranoid. I'm just scarred from the GC days
Eta: I think GC can be a great OC at the FCS level
