Defense:
* the talking heads correctly mentioned before the game the way to beat Leach is play zone. Look at Washington vs Washington St. My guess is Pelini did not plan for this and we lost the game because of it. This should have been in play even before Stingley became ill.
* Leach only runs a few pass and run plays so the argument about how fast State learned the offense of no consequence. He hit the same few plays again and again with success with an experienced QB.
Where were our safeties?
Big picture-How does Pelini plan to be multidimensional? Mix zone and man to man
in the future?

Offense:
* Brennan and Oline will get better with more experience. This has been beat to death.
Things I have not heard-
* We need the 5-Stars to begin dominating. Much work to put in.
* Arik must block. They had him play tight end; he must blast a few people in the run and pass game. This is key moving forward to the offense.
* Boutte has been chatted up by O yet he alligator armed his slot pass.

Thoughts?

How does Pelini adapt to modern college football. He’s not in the Big1G, MVC or the old SEC anymore. His last YSU defenses were shite.
I didn’t care for Aranda but Pelini was a poor comfort hire.

* last TD notwithstanding, I like Jay Ward. clearly gimpy with the knee brace, but he was out there busting his arse and had a nice PBU

* I thought Cam Lewis looked good in spots last year, was kinda surprised that he couldn't get in over Harris or Mo Hampton.

* we have dedicated coaches for CB and Safety, both of whom are highly-regarded. how'd our DBs look so bad?

* Jaray Jenkins looks like a player

* I felt like some of our WRs coulda/ shoulda adjusted their routes to give Myles shorter throws against some of MSU's zone and blitz looks. but then Myles would've had to have seen them if they adjusted. hoping that'll come with experience.

Why did 2nd string WRs play so much? Jaray was a surprise.

I agree.

I think jenkins, marshal and gilbert need to be locked into the game and not taken out until they need a breather.

I wanna say next man up is McMath then kirklin then boutte.

I know stats say curry and price but what I saw flash from emery tells me he needs to stay in.

Then when we are settled bring in curry and price to soften them dudes up they will eat.

The tackles need to really step it up. And that also falls on brennan to he needs to step up in pocket the tackles are generally making them go wide.

I can't say it any better then you what is bo going to do? He needs to start earning his paycheck now that he has some good film of his defense he needs to begin covering deficiencies and taking advantage of the things we are good at.

Gaye need to be one on one. Gotta bring a blits on gauges him a few times those tackles are not going to be able to block gaye and whom ever else stunts with him.
Cox is an asset he has speed and isn't afraid to lay the lumber let him clean up.
Rick's looked pretty good pair him with stingley on other side and some safety help over top.
Idk if harris is the answer for free safety I think we need more speed. I don't remember seeing hampton much what gives?
